Please test the current 2.6.32 from unstable/testing and tell us whether the problem persists. If so, we should report it upstream to the kernel.org developers. Bug#524441: suspend to RAM stopped working with linux-image-2.6.26-2-686
Package: linux-image-2.6.26-2-686 Followup-For: Bug #524441 Suspend to RAM now works with linux-image-2.6.26-2-686 on my ASUS V6V. The problem seems to be rather in the ATI video driver than in the 2.6.26-2-686 kernel. When first upgrading from linux-image-2.6.26-1-686 to linux-image-2.6.26-2-686, I also upgraded the ATI driver for my Radeon X600 video card from ati-driver-installer-8-11-x86.x86_64 to ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run, and suspend to ram stopped to work. Now, I am back with ati-driver-installer-8-11-x86.x86_64, and suspend to ram works fine again. I also tested the new ATI driver with the previous kernel 2.6.26-1-686, and it fails as well. Conclusion: blame the ATI driver, not the 2.6.26-2-686 kernel. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 2.6.26-2-686 (Debian 2.6.26-15) (da...@debian.org) (gcc version 4.1.3 20080704 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.2-25)) #1 SMP Thu Mar 26 01:08:11 UTC 2009 ** Command line: root=/dev/hda3 ro quiet vga=791 ** Tainted: P W (513) ** Kernel log: [ 189.213156] ACPI handle has no context!
