Bug#632138: linux-image-3.0.0-rc5-amd64: Network connection gets lost when screen goes blank (r8169, iwlagn)

2013-08-22 Thread Anton Martchukov
close 632138
thanks

Does this still affect more recent kernels, e.g. Wheezy?

No, this is no longer reproduced in wheezy. And I really forgot about
this bug too. So, I am closing this.

Thanks.

My laptop is connected to wired network (RTL8111/8168B card) and when
the screen goes blank (the laptop does not gets to sleep, just X blanks
the screen) the network connection gets lost.

This problem did not exist in the kernel version 2.6.38 and it appeared
 in kernel 2.6.39.

However there are some differences. When kernel 2.6.39 - 3.0.0 rc4 are
used in order to recover network connection one needs to reboot the
laptop completely. However in the latest 3.0.0 rc5 kernel from
experimental it is enough to just restart the network-manager.

I believe that this is kernel bug. No other changes are made to the
software and if I now reboot back to 2.6.38 there will not be any issue.

Sorry for the late reply.

Moritz
