For general info, we've been running upstream's 1.3.7 reliably here for 
several months on ARM, compiled to not use the kernel. There might be 
additional issues on aarch64.

I checked it. Yes, still reproducible with Linux 4.7.5-1 i686 and xl2tpd 
1.3.6+dfsg-4.

I don't use xl2tpd on my PC now, but I'll check it.
