Bug#827604: linux-image-4.6.0-1-amd64: Only mounts XFS drive as read-only
I haven't received any further notifications on this bug. This has remained an issue for me for all Linux versions higher than 4.5. Happy Hacking, David E. Bug#827604: linux-image-4.6.0-1-amd64: Only mounts XFS drive as read-only
It looks like systemd is failing to remount David's filesystems as read/write on Linux 4.6, but not on 4.5. Can you suggest how to get a log that would help diagnose this? Ben. Bug#827604: linux-image-4.6.0-1-amd64: Only mounts XFS drive as read-only
Package: src:linux Version: 4.6.2-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, All of the releases of Linux 4.6 in Debian Sid so far have failed to mount my primary disk in read-write mode. I have not tested my other XFS disks, because failure to correctly mount all my OS partitions causes numerous other daemons to fail to start (for instance, NetworkManager). I'm not really educated on managing the kernel, so I'm not sure what logs I'm supposed to be providing here. It should be noted that I can only look at historical logs (if they're even kept), because I can only submit this report while falling back to Linux 4.5. Let me know what information I can provide to accelerate the resolution of this big problem for me. -- Package-specific info: ** Kernel log: boot messages should be attached ** Model information sys_vendor: product_name: product_version: chassis_vendor: chassis_version: bios_vendor: Intel Corp. bios_version: WYLPT10H.86A.0026.2014.0514.1714 board_vendor: Intel Corporation board_name: D54250WYK board_version: H13922-304 ** Network interface configuration: auto lo iface lo inet loopback allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcp ** PCI devices: 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT DRAM Controller [8086:0a04] (rev 09) Subsystem: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT DRAM Controller [8086:2054] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: hsw_uncore 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0a26] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) DeviceName: CPU1 Subsystem: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2054] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- [disabled] Capabilities: Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 00:03.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT HD Audio Controller [8086:0a0c] (rev 09) Subsystem: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT HD Audio Controller [8086:2054] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel 00:14.0 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 8 Series USB xHCI HC [8086:9c31] (rev 04) (prog-if 30 [XHCI]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 8 Series USB xHCI HC [8086:2054] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: xhci_hcd Kernel modules: xhci_pci 00:16.0 Communication controller [0780]: Intel Corporation 8 Series HECI #0 [8086:9c3a] (rev 04) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 8 Series HECI [8086:2054] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: mei_me Kernel modules: mei_me 00:19.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I218-V [8086:1559] (rev 04) DeviceName: ILAN Subsystem: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I218-V [8086:2054] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: e1000e Kernel modules: e1000e 00:1b.0 Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 8 Series HD Audio Controller [8086:9c20] (rev 04) DeviceName: AUDIO1 Subsystem: Intel Corporation 8 Series HD Audio Controller [8086:2054] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+ Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel 00:1d.0 USB controller [0c03]: Intel Corporation 8 Series USB EHCI #1 [8086:9c26] (rev 04) (prog-if 20 [EHCI]) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 8 Series USB EHCI [8086:2054] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- SERR- Kernel driver in use: ehci-pci Kernel modules: ehci_pci 00:1f.0 ISA bridge [0601]: Intel Corporation 8 Series LPC Controller [8086:9c43] (rev 04) Subsystem: Intel Corporation 8 Series LPC Controller [8086:2054]
