Bug#989777: Severity: High / Debian 10 & 11 with Kernel 5.10.x-amd64 => Intel AX210 Wifi & Bluetooth not work

2021-11-26 Thread pham...@bluewin.ch
Hello,
I am pleased to announce that bluetooth now works correctly with Kernel
5.15.3-1: amd64 and my Intel AX210 Wifi / Bluetooth card :)
Keyboards on the other hand still cannot be paired, but this must be due to a
Blueman v 2.1.4 dependency issue.
Unfortunately this Kernel still does not manage the switching between an Intel
card (integrated) and Nvidia (discrete) on laptops.
Thank you for your support, this ticket can be closed.
Sincerely yours and a very happy New Year's Eve !!!
Best regards.
Philippe

Hi Philippe,

did you do anything else besides installing a new kernel?

Last year I bought a machine with a AX 210, which didn't work on Linux. I had to use Ubuntu (wifi and bluetooth both worked) until 5.14 was released in November for Debian
bookworm. Wifi worked but bluetooth didn't.

I'm now on 5.16 and bluetooth still doesn't work on this machine. Doesn't
matter whether it's a cold start, a reboot or this machine wakes from sleep.

Curious, what does journalctl -k | grep -Ei 'bluetooth|iwlwifi' report when
booting on Linux 5.14.9-2 paired with firmware-iwlwifi 20210818-1?

AFAIR, Wi-Fi should work on Linux 5.10 but bluetooth requires Linux >= 5.11.

2021-10-25 Thread pham...@bluewin.ch
Hello,
I have tested the 5.14.9-2~bpo11+1: amd64 Kernel from Backports on my
workstation, unfortunately it makes me lose compatibility with the Nvidia
460.91.03 drivers.
Maybe DKMS was not activated when compiling these drivers ???
Best regards.
Philippe

Hello Philippe,

(not the maintainer, but maybe I can still assist)

The link to the .deb package was provided in Vincent's message, I'll
include it again here:

https://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20210313T203823Z/pool/non-free/f/firmware-nonfree/firmware-iwlwifi_20210208-4_all.deb

This is a direct download link, your browser should offer to save the
file. Copy it to a USB stick and insert it during the installation.

In case the installer doesn't ask at all (because it already found a
firmware) it is possible to install it manually via the console, or just
use a regular image (without firmware included).

If you need any help with this feel free to contact one of Debian's
support channels:

https://www.debian.org/support

Hope this helps,
Andrei
