Re: alsa-firmware - bug #597897
Hello. The Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/597897 is a RFP for alsa-firmwares. I read every email related to this package on the debian-kernel mailing-list [1], but I cannot understand the reason why those firmwares are not yet part of firmware-nonfree package. However, I packaged the upstream source for my personal use, so I have the deb package ready. I can ITP the bug #597897 but I don't know anything about autotools (used in the sources), so probably if I become the maintainer I will not be able to solve package's bugs related to autotools, but I can learn. If one DD can sponsor the package, I'll suggest myself as the maintainer or co-maintainer if someone wants to help. You can get latest tarball of alsa-firmware from here: ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/firmware/alsa-firmware-1.0.24.1.tar.bz2 ./cofigure make will build *.bin files in hdsploader dir. Files digiface_firmware.bin, digiface_firmware_rev11.bin, multiface_firmware.bin, multiface_firmware_rev11.bin and rpm_firmware.bin should be placed to /lib/firmware/hdsploader/ directory. At least I have them installed there and it works fine for me and I think hdsploader search for firmware there. Maybe somebody from pkg-alsa-devel can comment on this? If you need get contact with upstream this should be right address: alsa-de...@alsa-project.org best regards mira -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". That's ok, I'll edit my package to install those files in that directory. Bye Simone -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? I think it was quite natural that alsa-devel has been asked for opinion and help or am I wrong? Sadly this process seems to be stuck now :( Best regards mira [1] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=627153 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kernel-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
