initramfs-tools 0.94 NEWS entry

2010-04-04 Thread maximilian attems
please review, intend to upload shortly :)

initramfs-tools (0.94) UNRELEASED; urgency=low

 * For better boot speed and due to unusual complications framebuffer, AGP
and KMS drivers are dropped out of the generic MODULES=most case.
The previously used framebuffer boot script is shipped in the examples
for packagers of userspace boot graphics. They may also need to ship
a hook file adding the mentioned graphics drivers. For the majority of
   boxes this is not needed.

"To improve boot speed and avoid some complications, video drivers are
no longer included in the initramfs by default (MODULES=most)."

I don't think regular users need to see this; the maintainers of those
packages can read the changelog.

Ben.

Once a job is fouled up, anything done to improve it makes it worse.
