You have this feature with the mailserver to. Don't translate a
description, if you can't translate it, if you have no time, or if you
don't like it, ...

If parts already translated, the server send this parts translated to
the server. If you have add the translated source in your
sources.list, you can use the translated description (and cut and
paste from it) on a daily base.

(as example:
# this description is from:

yes, this is a really pro.

But the translator don't see this and I have a db-api (like save_parts_to_db(),
get_desc_from_db ()). It should move this to better DataBase files
without problemes (hopefully).

thanks.

This is not a problem.

The server send only untranslated and unsend description, if the
server don't have untranslated and unsend description, I can remove
old send but still unstranslated description with one command.

Maybe I automate this step in future.

thanks.

You can. make this:
apt-cache show
cut and paste the description in a file and add the translated
description and send the whole thing to the server as attachment.

Salut Denis,

(je mets ici pour l'archivage :-))

J'ai réglé le problème de l'image about.fr.gif : il y a juste une
ligne à modifier dans debbar.pl pour réussir.

Cela dit, j'ai dû modifier le MakeFile de french/Pics pour ajouter le
script debbar_about.fr.pl dans le même répertoire, script qui est la
modification de debbar (dans english/Pics) juste pour fixer la
position de about.fr.gif.

Le seul em... est que l'en-tête du MakeFile demande de ne pas le
modifier (pour que cela soit fait par le mainteneur ad hoc). Peut-être
que l'on aura une dérogation pour french (mais c'est dangereux in fine
car on risque de rater une mise à jour ultérieure).

Je te propose en attendant de commiter le tout tel quel et que, en
tant que mainteneur, tu règles cela avec les gars qui s'en occupent
pour avoir une nouvelle option pour régler cela .

(Solution personnelle:
je pense qu'ajouter la bonne valeur dans pics.conf du genre

# Button text for your language

ABOUT_TEXT   := "À propos"

en

@ABOUT_TEXT   := ("À propos",  )

Par défaut vaut 3 dans le script Perl debbar.

Ce serait alors facile de personnaliser à la main au cas par cas. Cela
demande revoir juste un peu le script de parsing du fichier de
configuration mais c'est quasiment une broutille)

Voilà, tout à commiter dans webwmlfrench/Pics

- about.fr.gif
- MakeFile
- debbar_about.fr.pl (chmod 755)

Merci

DDR templates xserver-xfree86 et xterm

2001-07-27 Par sujet Jérôme Schell
Salut à tous

Voici 2 templates pour relecture:
xserver-xfree86
xterm

Petite question, dans xserver-xfree86:

« The "macintosh" model is for Macintosh keyboards where the kernel and
console tools use the new input layer which uses Linux keycodes. »

À votre avis comment traduire « new input layer » ?
Pour l'instant j'ai résumé en « interface (new input layer) ».
« nouvelle couche d'entrée » me paraissait un peu lourd :o)

Tout avis est le bienvenu :)

A+

JérômeTemplate: xserver-xfree86/config/display/default_depth
Type: select
Choices: 1, 4, 8, 15, 16, 24
Choices-fr:
Default: 24
Description: Please select your desired default color depth in bits.
Usually 24-bit color is desirable, but on graphics cards with limited
amounts of framebuffer memory, higher resolutions may be achieved at the
expense of higher color depth. Also, some cards support hardware 3D
acceleration only for certain depths. Consult your video card manual for
 more information.
 .
(So-called "32-bit color" is actually 24 bits of color information plus 8
bits of alpha channel or simple zero padding; the X Window System can
handle both. If you want either, select 24 bits.)

Template: xserver-xfree86/multiple_possible_x-drivers
Type: note
Description: Multiple potential default XFree86 server drivers for your

Multiple video cards have been detected, and different drivers are
required to support the various devices. It is thus not possible to
automatically select a default XFree86 server driver. Please configure
the device that will serve as your computer's "primary head"; this is
generally the video card and monitor to which the computer displays when
 it first boots.
 .
 At the present time, only a single-headed setup is supported by debconf;
however, the X server configuration files can be edited to support a
 multi-head configuration.
Description-fr: Plusieurs pilotes potentiels pour votre matériel.
Plusieurs cartes vidéo ont été détectées, et nécessitent chacune un pilote

Veuillez configurer le périphérique qui sera utilisé par votre système comme

Debconf n'est actuellement capable de configurer que des installations à
un seul moniteur ; cependant, les fichiers de configuration peuvent être
edités pour supporter des systèmes multi-moniteurs.

Type: boolean
Default: true
Description: Enable scroll events from mouse wheel?
Events from a wheeled mouse's wheel can be treated as clicks of additional
buttons (buttons 4 and 5). Some X applications treat buttons 4 and 5 as
scroll-up and scroll-down events, making the mouse wheel work as expected.
This is application-level behavior however, and may not always work. Also,
exotic mice with more than 3 buttons in addition to a wheel may behave in
an unexpected fashion if this option is set.

Enabling this option is harmless if your mouse has no scroll wheel.

Sorry, but I don't understand this.

> *Why are the translations not marked with a
> version number?

We don't need a version number.

The server save the description as a whole and all parts of the
description. The server save the email address from the last
translators too.

If a description changed the server send a mail to the last
translators with the
 old description
 a diff of the description
 the new description and
 the old translation
Normal the changes are very small and the german translators send the
new translation in 24 hours.

The server translate only unchanged description or (if he don't find a
translation) unchanged parts/sections. You see we don't need version
numbers.

I see in [EMAIL PROTECTED] a mail with a translated description
and the translator was asking for comments.

You don't need this. (only you have a real problem with the
translation.)
I have this on my TODO-list:
all translated description send the server to a second translator
and this translator can check the spelling.

With this, every description will check. But now we/you should
translate the description. This is a lot of work and we must start
some time. If we have translated > 50% we can start with this cross
checks.
