Distribution (without usage) of shall be used for Good, not Evil-licensed software
Hello people, the openlayers package, which I'm reviewing for sponsorship (mentoree CCed), has a couple of files with the following license: ---8--- Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the Software), to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, and to permit persons to whom the Software is furnished to do so, subject to the following conditions: The above copyright notice and this permission notice shall be included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software. I believe it's sufficient to patch the sources to avoid using those files, or even touching them during the build process: I see a restriction on *usage*, not on *distribution* (this would be clearly stated in debian/copyright, though). If you want to change that, I'd suggest you re-attempt Charles Plessy's proposed GR.
