Bug#765166: lintian -- False positives on - license-problem-gfdl-invariants

2017-10-16 Thread Roger Shimizu
Control: notfound -1 2.5.54

My package, shadowsocks-libev, had this lintian override before, but
it seems not necessary some time after stretch released.
So I guess this issue is fixed in one version after stretch.

But after I remove the lintian override, ftp master still rejected me.
I guess ftp master is running stretch version of lintian.
You can try to build my package, shadowsocks-libev, in stretch or
buster to confirm this issue.

Cheers,

Bug#765166: lintian -- False positives on - license-problem-gfdl-invariants

2016-06-11 Thread Jakub Wilk

Hi Ryan!

* Ryan Kavanagh , 2016-06-09, 17:41:

The following License section also causes a false positive:

#
License: GFDL-1.1+
Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document
under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.1 or
any later version published by the Free Software Foundation; with no
Invariant Sections, with no Front-Cover Texts, and with no Back-Cover
Texts.
#

The exact lintian error is:

E: vera source: license-problem-gfdl-invariants debian/copyright invariant part
is: with no invariant sections, with no front-cover texts, and with no
back-cover texts. comment: upstream comments:

I can't reproduce this. But anyway, it's probably a different problem
that the one Jörg reported.

Could you file a separate bug and tell us exactly how to reproduce it?

Adding a separate warning mentioning that the DEP5 license name should
be GFDL-NIV-1.1+ in the above case would help.

Please file a separate bug for this, too.

AFAICT, according to [0], the above license is OK.

Adding a separate warning mentioning that the DEP5 license name should
be GFDL-NIV-1.1+ in the above case would help.
