Sounds useful! May I point out that there is a similar effort already
going on with Cloud BioLinux [1]. Maybe Tim has something more to say
about that? In the paper it is stated that they are aiming to improve
their collaboration with the Deb Med community.
Disclaimer: I do not have first-hand experience with Cloud BioLinux, I
just handed out some Cloud Computing papers for student seminar
assignments and that was one of them...

Sounds good. I'm not that involved into clouds but remember that I
have read an article

   http://julien.danjou.info/blog/2013/cloud-init-utils-debian

which sounds very close to what you are proposing (at least with my
naive imagination about this topic.)

Kind regards

What about contacting the maintainer of hunspell-de-med directly?
Tobias was quite active in Debian Med in the very first days. Either he
has solved the problem you are actually facing or he has the very same
problem - and you could try fixing it together.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

I did post to the mailing list, but as I said it seems to be very low
traffic (last post was in October 2012) and I didn't get any reply.

So the issue is even though everything seems to be right with the
package, I am not able to use the spell checker with OpenOffice.

Possible GSoC idea: Cloud images for bioinformatics.

2013-02-21 Thread Charles Plessy
Dear all,

2012 has been a year of progresses in Debian's support for clouds,
and Debian is planning to apply again to the Google Summer of Code.

https://lists.debian.org/20130219002544.GA7036@leliel

I would like to propose a bottom-up project with the goal of setting an
infrastructure or workflow allowing one to build and use easily a Debian (Med)
image where given bioinformatics tools are available at a version selected by
the user (tapping in snapshots.debian.org or perhaps other repository within
our web of trust if necessary).

The project would be bottom-up in the sense that it would be up to the
prospective students to propose a sensible design, and that in the absence of
something convincing the project will not start (that is: I do not intend to
propose a top-down implementation design).

What do you think ?

OK, so the question is answered.

You might like to check using

  $ gpg --edit-key

whether the ID "Amul Shah " is attached to this
key. If not you should add this ID.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

[fis-gtm] git-buildpackage works until debsign

[amul:3] That is what I mean.

I did create a GPG key for myself defined for my personal email
address, not my work email address. How do others handle this? Do
you create two keys? Or do you create just one for your personal
email address?

It makes sense to have one key and attach all your e-mail addresses to
it - except you have some very specific needs.

[amul:3] I have created a key with two email addresses and put it into my local
keyring. However the build still fails.

Finished running lintian.
Now signing changes and any dsc files...
 signfile fis-gtm_6.0-001-1.dsc Amul Shah
gpg: skipped "Amul Shah ": secret key not available
gpg: /tmp/debsign.MfDS04bE/fis-gtm_6.0-001-1.dsc: clearsign failed: secret key
not available
debsign: gpg error occurred! Aborting
debuild: fatal error at line 1278:
running debsign failed
gbp:error: Couldn't run 'debuild -i -I': debuild -i -I returned 29

[amul:3] Any ideas on what is wrong? I'm using the script recommended in the
instructions.

thanks, Amul
