Into katoob. manpages-de should contain translations of manpages of
general interest (see the 'manpages' package). If katoob users really
don't want it there, they can still use localepurge.

It helps if you post a URL to the package here.

I did not add these HOWTO to maint-guide this time. It is already in
debian-reference. As others said. (But this gives you dependency)

 $ sudo apt-get buide-dep pkg
 $ apt-get source pkg

You may want to learn "apt-cache showsrc pkg" too.

Here goes the answer I sent you in March 1. And there was another
reply to your mailing as well in debian-perl.

Ok, it builds cleanly and seems to work correctly, so I will sponsor
it. I am making some minor changes to it:

debian/rules:

- After building the package, I am adding a '$(MAKE) test' - It is
always good to test your modules.
- In your 'clean' target, instead of manually calling 'rm -rf blib
  LibRSVG.bs LibRSVG.c LibRSVG.o Makefile pm_to_blib', it is better to
call the module's cleanup function - I replaced it by '-$(MAKE)
  realclean'
- Also in 'clean', I added a line to manually remove
examples/test.png, which is auto-generated during the build
process and breaks subsequent builds. Realclean does not remove it.

debian/changelog:
- Added a line stating the bug we are closing with the upload
- Added a line stating who is responsible for the upload (me)

debian/control:
- Changed from section: libdevel to section: perl

If the changes are OK with you, I will upload the package as soon as
you tell me to.

Now, I offer you also to integrate this module into the pkg-perl
Subversion repository, making it a module collectively maintained by
the pkg-perl group. What do you say?

Greetings,

Obviously there is only one way: Ask the security team. What else did

Then focus on building _one_ package.

( and spent another time in apt repositories
( "Packages" and "Packages.gz" are apt stuff
( apt was developed after dpkg
( apt is a layer over dpkg )

I am just learning by building _one_ package:

# wc -c Packages*
   1409 Packages
864 Packages.gz
   2273 total

Yes.

The point is that the policy says that configuration files that are
automatically generated must not be marked as conffiles. Yet the
maintainer must ensure that they are treated as configuration files,
with help from tools like ucf.

This is actually not necessary if you use dh_installdeb. Since
DH_COMPAT 3, it automatically marks all files in /etc as conffiles.

CYBOI looking for Sponsor

2005-03-09 Thread Christian Heller
Dear Debian Mentors,

we are looking for a sponsor for our CYBOI package.
I've already sent an ITP roughly describing it (see below).
Our project members would be glad to see the package in Debian soon :-)

In case somebody (potential sponsor?) wants to get more background
information, we are open for any further questions concerning our project.

In your reply, please put our developers list on CC:

Thanks and Best Regards,
Christian

Description : The Cybernetics Oriented Interpreter (CYBOI) is needed to
execute applications defined in the XML-based Cybernetics Oriented Language
(CYBOL). Both are part of the Cybernetics Oriented Programming (CYBOP)
project which provides a new theory to creating software systems. CYBOP aims
at enabling domain experts (medicine, insurance, banking, transport etc.)
who have no idea about programming, to create their own knowledge models to
better be able to contribute to software development. Furthermore, CYBOP
wants to eliminate the many inter-dependencies of classical software systems
and the need to repeatedly apply the same software patterns, by separating
application knowledge from more hardware-close system control. This all is
somewhat comparable to XAML in WinFX (Windows Longhorn), only that it will
be much better from a knowledge-modelling point of view, closer to nature
and to the principles of human thinking ;-) It will allow to define not only
GUIs, but complete applications in pure XML. See the latest paper on our
 website for more information!

Ok I see, thanks for pointing thatout (Qmail licence has always been a
bit mysterious to me) - but anyway since it is only for internal use

`gzip Packages` produces the Packages.gz

I'm very happy that each time I run `apt-get update` that I'm

The right thing(TM) is to find the right package name.
