To setup.py install call. This way you avoid byte compiling modules
while installing, which makes no sense as you should not include byte
compiled files in package and something (I guess pycentral) deletes
them anyway.

I have fixed everything you have mentioned and re-uploaded all three to

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "xf86-input-tslib".
You may think it as "xserver-xorg-input-tslib", a tslib based X server
input device driver.

* Package name   : xf86-input-tslib
  Version: 0.0.4-1
Upstream Author: Sascha Hauer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL:
http://www.pengutronix.de/software/ptxdist/temporary-src/

* License: BSD style, DFSG compatible
  Section: x11

It builds this binary package:

The package is lintian clean.

The upload would fix ITP: 463056

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:

nope.

first of all, it is named mozilla because it is for mozilla related
browsers (means, browsers which supports netscape plugin interface,
including but not limited to: iceweasel, iceape, konqueror, epiphany,
etc.) and not just iceweasel.

second, other packages shipping plugins for mozilla related browsers are
correctly using the term mozilla, not iceweasel.

This is true as far as it goes, but:

My understanding is that a copyright declaration on the work makes it
easier to prove to a court that the recipient knows that the work *is*
copyrighted to the specified entity, and that the copyright is
current.

In that sense, while the copyright holder retains that copyright
irrespective of notices, the notices make life legally simpler for
both the copyright holder *and* recipient, provided such notices are
in a standard legally-recognised form.

Don't use dpkg-buildpackage -j. Only set DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="parallel=n",
so build-arch and build-indep are not run in parallel, but you still get
several scons threads.

This looks quite good to me (except too much Japanese, which is giving

Anyway I'm wondering, as part of the Game Team, don't you have an usual

As I see this is usually maintained by Miriam, and she has DM

Anyway, I'll be glad to sponsor this, but you have to change the

Valid in what sense? Since copyright is automatic under the Berne

> Dear mentors,

I did a review of your package, and spotted these issues:

* It looks like you're shipping a non DFSG-free icon,
data/avant-window-navigator.svg under CC 2.0 by-sa, as specified by
its rdf metadata. Please contact upstream and ask him to relicense it
under a free one (ie. upgrade to CC 3.0). Please mention it in
  debian/copyright too.

* I can't understand what /usr/lib/awn/applets/taskman.desktop stand
for. I've never seen a launcher under /usr/lib/ and without a exec
line. And it resides in avant-window-navigator binary package.
  What's its purpose?

* You should probably ask debian-l10n-en to proofread your descriptions.
I'm not a native speaker, but they sound a bit strange to.
I'd suggest at least to rework brief descriptions and fix the
  spelling:

awn-manager - A preferences manager for avant-window-navigator
libawn-dev - library for avant-window-navigator - development files
python-libawn0 - Python bindings for avant-window-navigator library

The rest of the package seems goods to me, but first point has to be
resolved.
Moreover, I'm not very confident with cdbs, and I hope
someone more used to it would do a deeper review of that part of your
package.

Now my packae is no more lintian clean.

here is the linitna warning

Your package does not seem to be lintian clean.
'lintian' is a tool to verify if source package contain obvious
packaging errors. These warnings/errors were found:
W: lisaac source: native-package-with-dash-version
N:
N: Native packaging should only be used if a piece of software was
N: written specifically to be turned into a Debian package. In this
case, N: the version number should not contain a debian revision part.
N:
N: Native source packages are sometimes created by accident. In most
N: cases the reason is the location of the original source tarball.
N: dpkg-source searches for this in
N: ../package_upstream-version.orig.tar.gz.
N:

Before the debian tool chain was generating this .orig file but now it
build only a native-package-with-dash-version.

How can I deal with this ?

Cheers

new lisaac package

2008-01-30 Thread picca
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 2:0.1.2-1
of my package "lisaac".

It builds these binary packages:
lisaac - Object-oriented language base on prototype
lisaac-common - Arch-independent part for lisaac
lisaac-doc - Documentation for lisaac
lisaac-mode - Emacs mode for editing Lisaac programs

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 434920, 440426, 463065

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/lisaac
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/lisaac/lisaac_0.1.2-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
 Picca Frédéric

PS: Sorry for the noise with the last mail.

Missing descriptions on mentors.debian.net

2008-01-30 Thread Christoph Haas
Fellow earthicans,

a few package maintainers have complained that sometimes newly uploaded
packages to mentors.debian.net got rejected with an "internal error"
complaining about the "Description" field. I was told that due to a
recent change in "dpkg" the ".changes" files that depict the files
belonging to a certain package no longer contain the "Description" field
from debian/control. That's a pity because I can no longer easily find
out which binary packages are built from looking at the ".dsc" or the
".changes" file. Currently such uploads display with a description of
"-" on the mentors.debian.net site. It's a feature. :(

In the next days I'll write a parser to rip the debian/control patch out
of the ".diff.gz" file and parse the information from there. Doesn't
really make me happy but at least I wanted to tell you that the problem
is known.

Thanks for using mentors.debian.net

Cheers
 Christoph

P.S.: As discussed a few weeks ago mentors.debian.net will be
refactored. Which means it will be made more generic so that
others can use a public repository like that on their own.
I've started to put the work under a Trac at
  debexpo.workaround.org. Expect a shiny new mentors.debian.net
during the summer based on "debexpo". :)
