RFS: gtk-im-libthai 0.1.4-5 (updated package)

2008-06-16 Thread Theppitak Karoonboonyanan
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the new version 0.1.4-5
of my package "gtk-im-libthai".

It builds these binary packages:
gtk-im-libthai - GTK+ Input Method Module using LibThai

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these lintian warnings:
- W: gtk-im-libthai source: debian-rules-ignores-make-clean-error line 56
- W: gtk-im-libthai source: ancient-standards-version 3.7.2.2 (current is
  3.8.0)
- W: gtk-im-libthai source: build-depends-on-1-revision build-depends:
  libthai-dev (>= 0.1.2-1)
- W: gtk-im-libthai source: build-depends-on-1-revision build-depends:
  libgtk2.0-dev (>= 2.10.1-1)
- W: gtk-im-libthai: copyright-without-copyright-notice

This upload also adds DM-Upload-Allowed for me to directly upload it in
the future.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gtk-im-libthai
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
  main contrib non-free
- dget

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gtk-im-libthai/gtk-im-libthai_0.1.4-5.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards

I'm not aware of any canonical documentation that specifically addresses
your needs, since it's been so long since I learnt this stuff. In general,
what you want is the source package that corresponds to the binary package
you want to build, and that can usually be obtained by running 'apt-get
source '. From there, you patch the package to suit your needs and
then rebuild/compile the binary package (for which there are any number of
methods, and documentation available).

A quick Google search has found a couple of things that might be of use to
you:

Modifying existing packages

2008-06-16 Thread Jerry Stuckle

Hi, all,

I'm new to this end - and don't know if what I want is possible or not.
But here goes.

I need to modify some of the stock Debian packages for different
options. For instance, I need to modify
Exim to include MySQL support. I have several other packages with
similar needs.

What I need is a pointer to instructions on how I can get the the
information for how these packages
were built so I can modify them to meet my needs. I'd like to change
them as little as necessary to
maintain compatibility with other packages.

I've looked through a lot of documentation and haven't figured out how
to get the original build
information. But with all the available info out there, I probably
missed it, also. So if someone can
at least provide a pointer to doc on where I should start, I'd
appreciate it.

TIA.

RFS: genwebgallery

2008-06-16 Thread markus schnalke
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "genwebgallery".

* Package name: genwebgallery
  Version : 0.7-1
  Upstream Author : markus schnalke <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://prog.marmaro.de/genwebgallery
* License : MIT
  Section : web

It builds this binary package:
genwebgallery - generates minimalistic web galleries

Very simple tool to generate static HTML pages to view pictures on the
web. The generated pages are not very beautiful, but simple. They
contain just what is really needed - no fancy stuff. Also the generation
process is only one program call. You can specify some configuration
options like the dimension of the created thumbnails, the name of the
index page and some more.
All image processing is done via ImageMagick.

I want to add, that in one of the next releases, there will be support for a
much smaller alternative to ImageMagick (on which I'm working at the moment).
So, the program wants to provide a very simple web gallery generator with few
dependencies.

genwebgallery is written in sh, without bashism.

The package is new to Debian.

It appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix this bug: 484597 (ITP)

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/genwebgallery
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/genwebgallery/genwebgallery_0.7-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Please note, that I'm new to maintainship in Debian. I built the package as
good as possible, and an already-maintainer had a look in it. I hope everything
is fine with the package. If not, please let me know.

Kind regards
 markus schnalke

I have compiled it using pbuilder, creating a new base tgz of the sid
distribution and it compiled fine:
- pbuilder create --distribution sid --basetgz /tmp/sid.tgz
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gnome-inm-forecast/gnome-inm-forecast_0.6.1-0.dsc
- pbuilder build --basetgz /tmp/sid.tgz --distribution sid
gnome-inm-forecast_0.6.1-0.dsc

Here is the log:
http://kutxa.homeunix.org/temp/gforecast-pbuilder.log

I've compiled it several times on different machines for the unstable
distribution using pbuilder, and this is the first time I see that error. So I
really
don't know where the problem is.

Thank you for your comments and time Vincent.

You don't need a wii (=the console) but only a wiimote, that is one of the
controllers for it. The application makes use of the infrared-camera in the
wiimote. I took gtkwhiteboard mainly because the executable is called
gtkwhiteboard by upstream. Having the package a different name than the
executable IMHO adds more confusion. But of course I can change the name if
there is some kind of consensus that the current one if too confusing.
