Re: RFS: libpam-tacplus

2011-09-13 Thread Jeroen Nijhof
Hi,

The description is kind a short so let me describe it a bit better:

libpam-tacplus is a pam module which support authentication,
authorization (account management) and accounting (session management)
performed using the open tacacs+ protocol designed by Cisco.

There are still a lot of network admins that uses tacacs+ to manage
there network equipment. And a lot of them are using unix hops to manage
there equipment. This pam module will enable them to use the existing
tacacs/tacacs+ environment on unix servers as well so they do not need
to have separate accounts.

The package is lintian clean b.t.w.

With kind regards,
Jeroen Nijhof

RFS: spotweb (new try, with get_orig_source for dfsg source)

2011-09-13 Thread Jan-Pascal van Best
Hi all,

Please have a look at the latest version. I've implemented a
get-orig-source target in debian/rules that gets the proper revision
from github, removes the compressed js and css files and a
non-distributable font file, and create the orig.tar.gz. I've also
updated debian/copyright to reflect the new situation.

The new .dsc is at
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/spotweb/spotweb_0~20110903+gitab1d95b4+dfsg-1.dsc

Cheers

Yes you can, just put the right version in Depends. However this means
when building with older version of libvte one has to manually adjust
the Depends field as well.

RFS: jthread

2011-09-13 Thread Michael Gilbert
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "jthread".

 * Package name: jthread
   Version : 1.3.0-1
   Upstream Author : Jori Liesenborgs (jori.liesenbo...@gmail.com)
 * URL :
http://research.edm.uhasselt.be/~jori/page/index.php?n=CS.Jthread
 * License : MIT
   Section : libs

It builds those binary packages:

 libjthread-dev - JThread cross-platform library headers
 libjthread1.3.0 - JThread cross-platform threading library

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/jthread

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this
command:

  dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/j/jthread/jthread_1.3.0-1.dsc

This is an embedded library in minetest, so it would be good to have
it provided as a separate library. I would be glad if someone uploaded
this package for me.

Best wishes,
Michael Gilbert

I will sponsor it once logservice is accepted but could you change a few
things like:
* remove the DM-Upload-Allowed fields
* update the description.
This is too short:
Description: DIET grid middleware - agent
 DIET is a grid middleware that implements the Grid-RPC model.
 .
 This package include agents necessary to run a DIET hierarchy.
* write a debian/watch file
* write a repack script which removes the content of:
./src/Testing/third-party/

I will review more deeply this package in the future.

Thanks

Daniel,

I am not a debian developer, so I can not upload your package. However
I have checked it contents and it looks very good: I hope this message
encourages sponsors to check your package.

One comment: you require libswscale >=0.14 to build, which is present
in unstable but not (yet) in testing.
It may be useful to specify the version needed in debian/control:
libswscale-dev (>=4.0.7) [or whatever is more correct]

a little nitpicking:
There is a double @@ symbol in line 56 of your debian/copyright file

It's not a new package, and has been in Debian for quite some time,
since 1998 to be exact, 4 years before the distribution of the same name
appeared.

gentoo the file manager has been in Debian for longer time than the
identically named Linux distribution has existed, so I do think it is a
bit late to suggest a rename.

2011-09-13 Thread Janos Guljas
Hello,

I would like to confirm that I am still interested in dedicating some
of my time to write code for debexpo. Serafeim, thanks for CC-ing me.
I am on debian-mentors list already.

I will look at the code, and probably have some questions. Idea of
developing metrics plugin for collecting statistics and informations
about sponsors and packages for improving mentoring process is
interesting for me. I will just need some time to see how debexpo
works. If there is no final decision of metric implementation, I will
certainly have some ideas...

That's a bit tricky because the bug is in libgtk-3-0 and marked as
"affects" roxterm. It might not be considered as grave in that package
because it only affects a few applications (although they include
gnome-terminal) and when used with what's considered to be a
non-standard window manager.

I think releasing to experimental would be the best option at the
moment, so I'll upload a new version later.

That is, more or less, what's happening, so I'll move the bug to
libvte9. In case that takes a long time to fix should I manually
override the dependency?

Would you be interested to join the games team [1] for both of your
requests? I believe there you could find some people interested in your
package with uploading capabilities.

As a start I'd ask you to send your requests to their mailing list [2]
