Splitting source packages is generally something to talk to upstream about rather than something that should be done in Debian. I'm not involved in the buildd stuff, but AFAICT we do not build Architecture: any packages on all of the buildds for a particular architecture (because that would be a waste of CPU, disk, network resources). So I very much doubt we will be building Architecture: all packages on all available buildds, I guess they will be built on the first available buildd that matches the requirements (Build-Depends{,-Indep}, Build-Architecture, etc). Build-Depends-Indep is definitely not a kludge, thats the standard Debian interface for building arch-independent stuff only. -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#658306: preload/0.6.4-2 [ITA] -- adaptive readahead daemon
Since the 3.9.3 release, here's a new mentors.debian.net upload: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/preload/preload_0.6.4-2.dsc Here's the full changelog entry for this revision: * New Maintainer (Closes: #646216) * Switched to 3.0 (quilt) source format. * Corrected the logrotate location. Thanks to Tobias for the patch. (Closes: #619384) * Improved init.d script + Add init.d status support. Thanks to Peter Eisentraut for the patch. (Closes: #645156) + The script now provides itself. * Created debian/watch. * Fixed a spelling mistake in the manpage. * debian/copyright now refers to GPL-2 rather than to the GPL symlink. * Bumped debhelper compatibility up to level 9. * Bumped standards version to 3.9.3. I'd be very glad if someone uploaded this package for me. Thank you, Daniel -- Daniel Martí - mvdan.cc - 0x58BF72C3 signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#659522: RFS: prelink/0.0.20111012-1 [ITA] - ELF prelinking
A new package is available at mentors as shown below: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/prelink/prelink_0.0.20111012-1.dsc I've solved these issues: * Errors. * Pedantic and informational complaints are gone as well. * I've added a Closes:LP bug which requests the latest upstream version to be packaged. * Bumped standards version to 3.9.3. There are two W: I have left out for now: W: prelink source: ancient-libtool ltconfig W: prelink source: ancient-libtool ltmain.sh 1.4.2 Since the lintian description tells me to contact upstream before patching with quilt (which would give extra work), I've sent a mail to Jakub about the subject. I'll wait a week or two for his answer. For the time being, the newer upload seems to be fine apart from those two warnings. I'd be very glad if someone sponsored this package for me. The package has been re-uploaded to mentors.debian.net as follows: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/x/xfonts-bolkhov/xfonts-bolkhov_1.1.20001007-7.dsc It appears to be lintian clean and the orig.tar.gz issues are gone. Upstream answered: the file was generated using os.urandom() or something to be able to test on a non-trivial file and will be removed from future releases to be generated as needed before running the tests. When that plan goes into place, will the Architecture: all be built under all the different architectures? I have a package that fails to build under some archetectures, because of the heavy duty dependancies necessary to build an Architecture: all package. I am trying to figure out if it would be a good idea to split that source package in two.
