Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

  I am looking for a sponsor for my package "pidgin-latex"

 * Package name: pidgin-latex
   Version : 1.4.5-1
   Upstream Author : Benjamin Moll
 * URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/pidgin-latex/
 * License : GPL-2+
   Section : net

  It builds those binary packages:

pidgin-latex - Pidgin plugin to display LaTeX formulas

  To access further information about this package, please visit the following
URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/pidgin-latex

  Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/pidgin-latex/pidgin-latex_1.4.5-1.dsc

 NOTE: This version fix a security issue, please refer to:

http://pidgin-latex.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pidgin-latex/pidgin-latex/CHANGELOG?r1=1.4&r2=1.5

  Changes since the last upload:

  * New upstream release
  * Bump debhelper to 9
  * debian/copyright
+ Update format as in Debian Policy 3.9.3
+ Update copyright years
  * debian/control
+ Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.3
  * debian/rules
+ Append CPPFLAGS from dpkg-buildflags, since
  the upstream build system doesn't honour CPPFLAGS

  Regards,
   Elías Alejandro

You could, if you want that, create a package with version 1.92-15 based on

It's very unlikely the release team will still accept a new package
in wheezy at this stage. You could however provide a backport later.

Let give it a try as a minimal change should be quickly doable: how may I
proceed ?

Dear mentors,

  I am looking for a sponsor for my package "beef"

* Package name: beef
  Version : 1.0.0-1
  Upstream Author : Andrea Bolognani
* URL : http://kiyuko.org/software/beef
* License : GPL-2+
  Section : devel

  It builds these binary packages:

  beef - flexible Brainfuck interpreter

  To access further information about this package, please visit the

  Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/b/beef/beef_1.0.0-1.dsc

  Changes in this release:

* New upstream release. (Closes: #639247)
* Fix watch file. (Closes: #529748)
* U01-fix-whatis-entry.diff:
  - use the conventional format for the NAME section of the man
page, so that programs such as whatis and apropos can parse it.
* D01-skip-documentation-files.diff:
  - don't install duplicated documentation files.
* D02-leave-changelog-alone.diff:
  - don't overwrite upstream changelog.
* Switch to 3.0 (quilt) source format.
* Switch to compat level 9.
* Update Debian copyright file to DEP5 candidate version.
* Add Vcs-* control fields.

I would be glad if someone could upload this package for me.

Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: wishlist

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "bwctl"

* Package name: bwctl
  Version : 1.3-1
  Upstream Author : Jeff Boote ,
Aaron Brown
* URL : http://www.internet2.edu/performance/bwctl/
* License : custom license which is not considered free (see
http://lists.debian.org/debian-legal/2012/02/msg4.html)
but upstream is apparently changing to apache license in
upcoming release of bwctl
  Section : net

 It builds those binary packages:

 bwctl-client - bandwidth test controller (client)
 bwctl-doc - documentation for bandwidth test controller
 bwctl-server - bandwidth test controller (server)
 i2util-tools - internet2 utilities
 libbwlib-dev - bandwidth test controller (development)
 libi2util-dev - internet2 utility library (development)
 libthrulay-dev - network capacity tester (development)
 libthrulay0 - network capacity tester (runtime)
 thrulay-client - network capacity tester (client)
 thrulay-server - network capacity tester (server)

 To access further information about this package, please visit the
 following URL:

 http://mentors.debian.net/package/bwctl

 Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

 dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/b/bwctl/bwctl_1.3-1.dsc

 More information about bwctl can be obtained from
 http://www.internet2.edu/performance/bwctl/.

 It would be very helpful for the european NREN community if bwctl could
 be included into the upcoming stable release because some software projects
 are making heavy use of it.

 Changes since the last upload:

 Initial release (Closes: #662849)

 Regards,
   Raoul Gunnar Borenius

Re: dh machinery and module how to export only given symbol

2012-08-25 Thread Jerome BENOIT

Thanks for your quick reply:

Meanwhile, I realized that I can modify the Makefile.am itself.

Best wishes,
Jerome

Hello:

I have to build a module that exports only symbol with a given prefix:
in the pre-dh debian/rules , something as

CFLAGS="$(cflags) -Wl,--version-script,debian/.version"

was use. I cannot figure out how to proceed within the dh machinery.

With debhelper in compat 9 mode, it will set the various variables by
using dpkg-buildflags.

Thus you can use the facilities of dpkg-buildflags to extend such
variables. See man dpkg-buildflags.

export DEB_CFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND=...

This is the recommended way nowadays. But in truth, setting and exporting
variables should just work since dh will not overwrite existing
environment variables.

Cheers,

It's very unlikely the release team will still accept a new package
in wheezy at this stage. You could however provide a backport later.

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "acsccid"

  * Package name: acsccid
Version : 1.0.4-1
Upstream Author : Advanced Card Systems Ltd.
  * URL : http://acsccid.sourceforge.net/

It builds those binary packages:

  libacsccid1 - PC/SC driver for ACS USB CCID smart card readers

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

improved the compatibility with pcsc-lite 1.8.3.

Bug#685836: RFS: libpam-ssh/1.97+ds-1 reintroduction

2012-08-25 Thread Jerome BENOIT

Hi Bart:

I am agree this packaging bring a lot new material, but only on surface:
the main new material is due to OpenSSH embedded code update,
what was necessary to support the new ECDSA keys provided now by OpenSSH.

My primary goal is get it back:
I guess it is too late to get it back for Wheezy,
but I hope it will be fine for Jessie.

Should I have done an intermediate packaging ?

Regards,]
Jerome

Hi Jerome,

Is your goal to add this package to wheezy ? The package at mentors uploaded
there on 2012-08-25 01:46 appears to have more minimal differences with
1.92-14.

Regards,

Bart Martens
