Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "ipset"

 * Package name: ipset
   Version : 6.12.1-2
   Upstream Author : Jozsef Kadlecsik
 * URL : http://ipset.netfilter.org/
 * License : GPL
   Section : net

It builds those binary packages:

  ipset - administration tool for kernel IP sets
  libipset-dev - Development files for IP sets
  libipset2  - IP sets library

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/ipset

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/i/ipset/ipset_6.12.1-2.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

ipset (6.12.1-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Move ipset and lib to /sbin and /lib/[arch triplet] respectively
* debian/rules, debian/{ipset,libipset2,libipset-dev}.install:
  - Move ipset and lib to the path which independent of /usr.
It should setup the *set* correctly even the system could not mount
/usr as same as the iptables does.
(thanks to Henrique de Moraes Holschuh for suggestion)
  * Add debian/NEWS
- Inform the users that ipset and lib have been moved to /sbin and
  /lib/[arch triplet] respectively and it does not support the /usr not
  mounted yet until the libmnl moves their library to /lib.
  * Update 90-fix-typo.patch info: Applied-Upstream
  * Add -fstack-protector-all to CFLAGS
* debian/rules:
  - Add -fstack-protector-all to CFLAGS to force ipset binary hardened
with stack protector properly.

Best regards,
Neutron Soutmun

You're the boss. :>

(as I said last time, you can also contact me directly, if you want to
get something sponsored. You do not need to file a RFS bug.)

I think it's in the Wheezy freeze and the package is not the fixing
important bugs, therefore, I have not requested for sponsor yet.

My intention is waiting until the Wheezy released, but is it OK if it be
uploaded to 'experimental' first ?

Hi Boris,

Indeed (maybe the build is a little complicated to simply copy some
files ;).

> Anyone interested in localization?

Sure. Other people looking for a sponsor for a localization-only package
or localization-only update are welcome to (X-Debbugs)-CC
debian-i8n@l.d.o where localization-friendly people may be happy to help.

Back to the package:
- there is a useless .gitignore file in the upstream tarball, you may
wish to remove it (since you're upstream);
- the get-orig-source target currently doesn't work: the downloaded
0.15.5338.6 file come without its .tar.gz suffix, that confuses uscan;
- I don't really see the point of repacking the upstream tarball just to
reduce its size. It would be more useful to use xz for the binary
package and save the bandwidth for the user-oriented stuff;
- why does it depends on psi-plus-common? Wouldn't it be more useful to
depend on psi-plus?
- the package description could be improved, please consider asking for
a review on debian-l10n-english@l.d.o;
- since it's a localization package, psi-plus-l10n may be more accurate
than psi-plus-i18n for its name.

None of these remark/questions must be fixed for the initial upload, but
in case you consider the last remark (renaming the package to
psi-plus-l10n), it would be better to upload with the accurate name (so
I didn't uploaded it directly) in order not to pass the ftpmaster NEW
queue twice.

Regards

David

Bug#673457: RFS: psi-plus-i18n/0.15.5338.4-1 [ITP] -- translation files for Psi+

2012-09-25 Thread Boris Pek
Hi,

Unfortunately my sponsor of "psi-plus" package still has no time for package
"psi-plus-i18n" (since March month) and I am looking for a sponsor for it:
  http://bugs.debian.org/673457

To prevent possible questions: yes, newer translations are available in
upstream repo, but this version (0.15.5338.6-1) of "psi-plus-i18n" package was
prepared for unstable where package "psi-plus" has version 0.15.5338-1. Next
upload will be to experimental and newer version of translations will be in it.

Direct link for download:

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/psi-plus-i18n/psi-plus-i18n_0.15.5338.6-1.dsc

Other links:
  http://mentors.debian.net/package/psi-plus-i18n
  https://github.com/tehnick/psi-plus-i18n-debian/tree/master/debian/

Package is very small and simple. It will not require much time.

Anyone interested in localization?

Best regards,
Boris
