If you want this in Wheezy, please read the freeze-policy [1] and make
sure that your package has minimal changes to fix the bug.

No, you don't NEED to become a maintainer in that sense. If you prefer,
you can always prepare the package and ask here for someone to upload.
But always be prepared to defend your choices and to do some iterations
to get things in shape.

I haven't looked, but from your description it seems too invasive for a
freeze acceptation. It is probably ok for experimental.

I say great !

You can retitle bug 664092 to ITA and set yourself as the owner. Then you can
upload your package to mentors.debian.net and mark the package "needs sponsor =
yes".

Bart Martens

want to get involved to fix blt package

2013-01-21 Thread Paul Johnson
I just kicked up some dust about getting the blt package fixed for Wheezy.

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=524149

The conclusion there is "if you want it fixed, go fix it". I say OK!
blt is abandoned, I have been fixing it for a couple of years. What
next.

I'm a Debian user and have been building packages for various uses,
but have never registered with your formal system. I need to become a
maintainer, ala (http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMaintainer), or
something like. I only want to take on the smallest possible role in
order to get packages fixed.

I have the packaging work sorted out

http://pj.freefaculty.org/Debian/wheezy/amd64/blt-2.4z-quilted

The proposed packages are there. There's a README. I re-organized the
package to use quilt.

I cant tell if I need to be a maintainer, or I just need one of you
maintainers to upload this for me.

That's why I'm asking in the mentor list.

Bug#698599: RFS: eggdrop/1.6.21-1 [ITA]

2013-01-21 Thread Ansgar Burchardt

[ I have no intention to sponsor this upload. ]

Hi,

the Replaces: eggdrop (>= 1.6.16-2) for eggdrop-data in debian/control
looks wrong. eggdrop-data should Breaks+Replaces version of eggdrop
that are *before* than the package split.

Given that eggdrop-data was introduced in 2004, you could also just drop
the Replaces field.
