Bug#836903: RFS: qevercloud/3.0.2+ds-1 [ITP] -- Unofficial Evernote Cloud API library for Qt
Package: sponsorship-requests Severity: wishlist Dear mentors, I am looking for a sponsor for my package "qevercloud" * Package name: qevercloud Version : 3.0.2+ds-1 Upstream Author : Dmitry Ivanov * URL : https://github.com/d1vanov/QEverCloud * License : MIT Section : libs It builds those binary packages: libqt4qevercloud3 - Unofficial Evernote Cloud API library for Qt4 libqt5qevercloud3 - Unofficial Evernote Cloud API library for Qt5 qt4qevercloud-dev - Development files for libqt4qevercloud qt5qevercloud-dev - Development files for libqt5qevercloud To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL: https://mentors.debian.net/package/qevercloud Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command: dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/q/qevercloud/qevercloud_3.0.2+ds-1.dsc Alternatively, one can browse the packaging scripts on GitHub: https://github.com/hosiet/QEverCloud Alternatively, one can download pre-built deb packages or download the source package on deb-o-matic: http://debomatic-amd64.debian.net/distribution#unstable/qevercloud/3.0.2+ds-1/ This is a new package and will work as the dependency of nixnote2 (RFS: #832704) to replace nixnote2's bundled qevercloud library source files. Previous discussions can be found in the nixnote2 RFS, start from Message #70: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=832704#70 In order to regenerate some generated cpp source/headers files, the source code of an extra generator (https://github.com/d1vanov/QEverCloudGenerator) and the upstream Thrift IDL files release by Evernote Corporation (https://github.com/evernote/evernote-thrift) was included, which made the build system (as written in debian/rules, plus patch in debian/patches) somehow ugly and hacky. I am wondering if such instructions are acceptable. Reviews and suggestions are welcomed. Regards, Boyuan Yang
cython package: relevant examples
Hello Forum, I am looking for relevant cython Debain package, one that can be used as a good example: any hint ? Thanks in advance, Jerome
cython package: meta info
Hello Forum, I am packaging my first cython package. I have noticed what looks as meta information in the distributed __init__.pxd file, something as: --8><-- # distutils: include_dirs = /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/PACKAGE_NAME Is this metaformation meant for some builder ? As a matter of fact, this very line was written by th setup.py scrip as follows: init_pxd = "# distutils: include_dirs = {0}\n".format(install_dir) Clearly the install_dir must be corrected: what is the best way to do so ? Thanks in advance, Jerome
Bug#836900: RFS: powerzz/1.0.1 and RFS: upshutzz/1.0.0
Package: sponsorship-requests Severity: normal Dear mentors: We at AdoraDeal LLC are big fans of Debian and Open Source programs. We recently released several little programs under GPL V3.0. Among the programs we released are the two below, which I believe may fill a gap and be useful for many people. If someone is interested on making a package with any of those two, I would love to see that (I created those programs exactly because I needed them and no similar alternative was available on Debian, at least for LXDE). The programs I am suggesting are: powerzz V1.0.1: powerzz is a battery power monitor. It will warn the user of low battery power when the charge level reaches 15%, and it will start the critical action when the battery charge level reaches 7% (at that point, a warning will be shown and the user will have 30 seconds to cancel the critical action by pressing "Cancel"). This program has 3 settings, which can be chosen via a zenity gui: "off" (do nothing), critical action "hibernate" and critical action "shutdown". It uses cron to run. A simple & useful power manager for LXDE and other desktops. https://www.adoradeal.com/powerzz.html upshutzz V1.0.0: upshutzz is an "on-demand", unassisted system update program. It will check for and fix any software packages "errors" and broken dependencies, then it will update the package lists from the repositories (apt-get update), then it will run a safe update (apt-get upgrade), then it will check for and update (if installed) the flash player, and after it finishes running it will shutdown the computer. The upshutzz program should be used when you are ready to shutdown the computer for the day, just launch it and leave the computer doing its thing - the easiest way to update, ever! https://www.adoradeal.com/upshutzz.html Regards, Jamil Said Jr. President - AdoraDeal LLC www.AdoraDeal.com

Re: Advices for packaging a daemon of galileo
Hi Ben, Le 6 sept. 2016 1:20 AM, "Ben Finney" a écrit : > > Could you instead have the existing ‘galileo’ package install the > SystemD service, but not activate it? > > That way, anyone who installs ‘galileo’ can choose whether to enable the > service. You could describe how to do that in the ‘README.Debian’ > document. > Thanks for your comment. It was my first idea but in this case, users who want to have the daemon should 1. enable the daemon, 2. modify the udev rules and 3. possibly create a specific user. So after installing the package, there are many steps to do manually before to have a daemon running. I would like to simplify as much as possible the installation of the daemon. Thanks Best regards, Dylan

Then this just means that the buildd chroots for most archs (except apparently hppa) were only upgraded but never rebuilt from scratch - so the fact that the package builds at all at the moment is an artifact of how buildd chroots are maintained. ;-) >> MIPS (at least 32bit) doesn't support 64bit atomic operations >> intrinsically (_8 == 8 bytes) - and your software uses >> std::atomic (found that by grepping). >> >> However, gcc provides an emulation library called libatomic. Hrmpf, my try yesterday was -Wl,--push-state,--as-needed -latomic -Wl,--pop-state I didn't think about adding -latomic to the linker flag list directly via -Wl. I just tested your suggestion and it's really funny; libtool does mangle your line and separate it into: -Wl,--push-state -Wl,--as-needed -Wl,-latomic -Wl,--pop-state but since there's no direct -l argument, it actually does work and the things are kept together and in order. @Muri: use this line in the patch instead: AC_CHECK_LIB([atomic], [__atomic_add_fetch_8], [atomic_LIBS="-Wl,--push-state,--as-needed,-latomic,--pop-state"], [atomic_LIBS=""]) That way, the libatomic dependency will only be picked up on platforms where it's necessary. Regards, Christian
Re: FTBFS: how to test fixes
* Christian Seiler , 2016-09-05, 20:33: Also note that there are plans to make init non-Essential in the future, The future is now! init is non-essential already. You can remove it from your unstable chroot if you want to. MIPS (at least 32bit) doesn't support 64bit atomic operations intrinsically (_8 == 8 bytes) - and your software uses std::atomic (found that by grepping). However, gcc provides an emulation library called libatomic. You should link against that emulation library if present in order to use those intrinsics. You shouldn't need to care about this. This should be the compiler's job. This might result in a spurious dependency on libatomic on other platforms, but unfortunately I don't know of any way to properly pass --as-needed for just this library without libtool reordering the entire list of linker flags. :-( Not tested against libtool, but this should do the trick: -Wl,--push-state,--as-needed,-latomic,--pop-state (Since this is just one g++ argument, libtool doesn't have room to reorder much.) -- Jakub Wilk
