this is true in general, unfortunately Chrisb is inactive since one year or so,
and his last upload is around 5 years ago.

I have sponsored the latest major upload of this package, and everything has
been good
so far.

My opinion is to review and eventually go in deferred/15 after a while,
considering
that I'm ccing Chris in this email.

So, if you want I can take care of this one

BTW all of the diff, except for ~100 lines is about autotools autogenerated
stuff :)

While the package maintainer's is on the LowNMU list, a new upstream release
with a 447407 line diff is not appropriate here, especially that the bug has
been reported only 6½ days ago and is only severity:important.

Please get an ok from the maintainer.

I've shifted this issue to pkg-emacsen-add...@lists.alioth.debian.org
for further discussion.

I've opened a new ITP bug for emacs-ivy-doc and X-Debbugs-CCed you.

Would you please upload src:emacs-ivy at commit 9776992 if there are
no further outstanding issues? doc/ivy-ox.el should not be installed,
(see commit 3f130b9).

Cheers,

libgexiv2.

  * Use DEP-14 branch names. Add debian/gbp.conf to set branch defaults.

  * Run wrap-and-sort
  * debian/control:
- Remove obsolete versioned dependency, Breaks, and Replaces.

- Remove Build-Depends on dh-autoreconf.  It's included with debhelper 10.
- Change libgexiv2-dev from Multi-Arch foreign to same.
  * Update symbols file:
- Add new symbol and remove private symbols which upstream has marked as
  hidden.
- Dynamically associate C++ symbols with current version. These are
  private symbols and not part of the ABI. Dynamically generate a symbols
  file giving all of them the current library version. This prevents new
  C++ symbols from causing warnings.
  * Update debian/copyright. Update copyrights and change Format to use https
url.

here we are

I sponsored in deferred/10, but I have some questions/nitpicks:
1) you can consider having a debian/clean file instead of overriding dh_clean
2) did you test/rebuild reverse-dependencies?
3) please fix testsuite
