This is now resolved in ‘dput’ version 1.0.2, available now in Debian
“unstable”.

Thanks for co-ordinating this change.

You should be able to do it yourself... are you saying that you were
unable to create a repo under emacsen-team? I just bumped your

I don't want to upload the package with the wrong Vcs-* headers, so
let's get this fixed first.

Hi,

I'm looking for a sponsor for this NMU against youtube-dl.
It removes youtube-dl's built-in autoupdate mechanism, whose security
is unclear and which is defunct on Debian anyhow (see #890119 for details).

@Rogério: This exactly adds the patch I sent to the packaging repository in
  https://github.com/rbrito/pkg-youtube-dl/pull/2
  However, since the state of the packaging repository is inconsistent
  with what is in the Debian archive, you will need to push to the
  repository, merge my PR, and then manually grab the updated changelog.

The updated version of the package is available on mentors.d.n :

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/youtube-dl

https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/y/youtube-dl/youtube-dl_2018.01.27-1.1.dsc

Note that there are 2 minor issues in the package that I did not change:
- The package still uses dh 10
  I have no idea whether the maintainer wants to switch to dh 11
- groff throws a warning on the youtube-dl(1) manpage (lintian tag
  manpage-has-errors-from-man), but I believe this is out of scope for this NMU.

Best,

  nicoo

OK, sorry for assuming you might not be around for longer.
Also, sorry for the slow reply, I am myself travelling this week.

What's making you unhappy with the removal of that code, given that
it is (supposed ot be) defunct on Debian anyhow?

That's fairly sensible, I will update the patch in the PR.

A migration to salsa should be straightforward, but in the meantime, pushing the

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for the package "qstardict".

I am neither this package's maintainer nor uploader (yet), but I will
be in the uploaders list (co-maintainer)
with the original maintainer's (who's also acting as qstardict's
upstream) approval in a private mail.

  * Add myself into uploaders list.
  * New upstream release. (2018-01-24) Closes: #528257
+ Ported to Qt5. Closes: #875145
  * Switch to 3.0 (quilt) packaging format.
  * Bump debhelper compat level 5 -> 11.
+ Use dh sequencer.
  * Bump Standards-Version 3.8.0 -> 4.1.3.
  * Drop d/menu and d/qstardict.xpm files in favor of .desktop file.
  * Point d/watch file to GitHub releases.

[ANN] Changed FTP upload queue for mentors.debian.net

2018-02-24 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
tl;dr:

The FTP upload queue changed from / to /pub/UploadQueue/.
Please update your local dput configuration.

Longer version:

mentors.d.n has been running a patched vsftp to allow anonymous uploads
to the root of the upload queue. We want to get rid of that local
patch, so we are changing the upload queue to something that is
non-root, and we want for the pseudo-standard path used also in
ftp-master.

We have already uploaded an updated dput-ng¹ with the changed path, and
opened bugs for dput² and dupload³.
In the meantime the old upload path will keep working as if nothing
happened, but please change any local configuration you have as at some
point at some future we will disable it.

Hi,

I had a look at your packaging, and found the following:

(-) debhelper 10 -- some advise 11
(-) standard-version 4.1.2 -- we're now at 4.1.3
(-) in d/copyright, you could share the license chunks:
Files: foo
Copyright: whatever
License: GPL-3+

Files: bar
Copyright: whatever
License: GPL-3+

 Here comes the text, once!

Then I tried to compile it, and saw what lintian had to say:

$ lintian -I persepolis_3.0.1-1_amd64.changes --pedantic
