Bug#1036751: RFS: mini-httpd/1.30-4 [ITA] -- Small HTTP server

2023-08-15 Thread Nicholas D Steeves
Hi Alexandru,

Thanks again for your work! I submitted a second (I think we're at the
second one) gitlab review here:

  https://salsa.debian.org/debian/mini-httpd/-/merge_requests/2/diffs

Summary:

1. One minor nitpick for multi-maint changelog format

2. Two lines that I can't make sense of within the context of the
changelog. If you haven't already, please follow-up with these two bugs
you've noted on the BTS, and please CC any contributors to those bugs.

After that, let's talk about uploading. Think about whether you'd like
to start gaining practise with dput (or dput-ng), or whether you'd like
me to sponsor directly from git. If there's anything you'd like to
squash either squash it and force push, or let me what what you'd like
help squashing.

Cheers,
Nicholas

Bug#1026335: Review of the initial packaging of the carl9170 firmware

FYI, that wasn't the correct thing to do.

Built-Using is for license compliance cases:

https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#additional-source-packages-used-to-build-the-binary-built-using

Static-Built-Using is for other static linking or embedding cases.

The static linking wiki page needs updates for Static-Built-Using
and the predecessors of it used by the Rust and Golang packages.

Repack source lacking root directory?

2023-08-15 Thread Christian Kastner
Hi,

I have an upstream source that ships files as a ZIP file, with no root
directory in that file. So contents are something like

  file1.txt
  file2.c
  subdir/file3.h
  file4.tx

uscan will automatically repack the ZIP, but I couldn't figure out the
magic incantation necessary in debian/watch to move these to a root
folder 'srcname'.

Can anyone help? Is this even possible with a plain debian/watch, or
will it need a custom repacker?

Best,
Christian
