Bug#698557: Small mistake

2013-01-20 Thread Christian Metscher

Dear mentors,

the Upstream Authors are Fabian Deuchler and Christian Metscher.

Additional Information on nobleNote:
This is a Qt program for taking notes. It should be an alternative for
the two known programs Tomboy and gNote.
The notes are saved in html instead of xml. Notes from Tomboy and other
programs using xml or html can be imported.

Kind regards,
 Christian Metscher

Re: Re: RFS: qt-program-starter (new package)

2010-02-24 Thread Christian Metscher
Okay, should I call them qtshutdown and qtprogramstarter or rather
 shutdown-p and program-starter?
If I rename them, should I upload them as new packages and delete the others?

I've renamed them to qshutdown and qprogram-starter...
If I upload them like this to mentors, should I delete the others? - I don't
have to make a new RFS in this list, do I?

p.s. Can I write to you directly? - I think it would be faster this way.

Kind regards
 Christian Metscher

This looks interesting for a 216-line program ;). I thought about
writing something similar a few years back but never got around to it.
I should be able to sponsor it if no one else has stepped up yet.

Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I would have never thought that someone would look at qt-program-starter...
It would be great if you would sponsor it for me (no one else has stepped up).
I've just made a update for qt-program-starter to version 1.2.4, since
the file path in the debian/qt-program-starter.1 was wrong. And I've added
some key shortcuts for the checkboxes.

There is something I'd like to ask. Do I need for each package another
sponsor, or may I ask you to throw a look at qt-shutdown-p? - Just in
case you want to look at it:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/q/qt-shutdown-p
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget

Since this is a rather similar (and also very small) tool with
identical
build dependencies, I think you should merge these into a unified
 tarball.

I'm not sure about this, because they have very different purposes:
qt-shutdown-p is a tool just for shutting down the system, while
qt-program-starter is a tool to start programs or commands with the
options to shutdown and log errors and output.

You might also consider using a little less generic name for these
tools, especially since 'qt-*' package names are normally used for tools
 from the Qt package itself.

think my package is quite useful. It should run on any system and is pretty
slim. I know
several people that would want so see this package in Debian/Ubuntu/Kubuntu

qt-shutdown-p is a program to shutdown the computer. It sends a shutdown
request to
either, the sessionbus (Gnome and KDE) or the systembus (HAL). If this won't
do it will
use sudo shutdown -P now. For more information please check the manpage or
the
 info-messagebox.
