Bug#782074: RFS: ublock/1.1.1+dfsg-1 [ITP] -- general-purpose lightweight ads, malware, trackers blocker
The script tools/fix-3p-assets.sh blanks out a bunch of the thirdparty filter lists in the resulting extensions. Do you think it's worth removing them from the source package as well? Upstream plans on removing them from theirs eventually too: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/issues/885 By removing all them, the only files remaining in assets/thirdparties are: ./www.malwaredomainlist.com/hostslist/hosts.txt ./www.malwaredomainlist.com/hostslist/README.md ./raw.githubusercontent.com/wiltteri/wiltteri.txt/master/wiltteri.txt ./raw.githubusercontent.com/k2jp/abp-japanese-filters/master/abp_jp.txt ./raw.githubusercontent.com/adblockpolska/Adblock_PL_List/master/adblock_polska.txt ./publicsuffix.org/list/effective_tld_names.dat ./easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easyprivacy.txt ./easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt
Bug#782074: RFS: ublock/1.1.1+dfsg-1 [ITP] -- general-purpose lightweight ads, malware, trackers blocker
I packaged uBlock Origin as suggested by Marius. Source package: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/u/ublock/ublock_1.1.1+dfsg-1.dsc Mentors page: http://mentors.debian.net/package/ublock I also enabled the chromium build for this one. debian/uBlock0.pem is a private key which the .crx file is signed with and is required in order to keep the same extension ID across rebuilds and upgrades. Bug#782074: RFS: ublock/0.9.5.0+dfsg1-1 [ITP] -- general-purpose lightweight ads, malware, trackers blocker
Thanks for the review! I contacted the upstream author of hufilter and it's now distributed under CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. I renamed the other "pulic-domain" short description to "unlicense". I'm not sure how to fix the other issues. According to https://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/copyright-format/1.0/#copyright-field, the copyright field is for relevant copyright notices but a lot of the filters don't have any copyright notices. I would like to make the extension available to Chromium but I don't know how to get Chromium extensions installed system-wide. I can't find any other Chromium extensions packaged for Debian either.

Bug#782074: RFS: ublock/0.9.3.0-1 [ITP] -- general-purpose lightweight ads, malware, trackers blocker
Sorry for the delay, I've patched filter-lists.json to have nonfree filters disabled by default. Nonfree filters will only be downloaded if the user enables them. The latest package can be downloaded here: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/u/ublock/ublock_0.9.4.0+dfsg1-1.dsc -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#782074: RFS: ublock/0.9.3.0-1 [ITP] -- general-purpose lightweight ads, malware, trackers blocker
I made a huge mistake during the testing of this package: I still had uBlock installed in my Iceweasel profile so while I thought I was using the packaged version, I was actually using the upstream xpi. Anyway, it turns out that the uBlock installed by this package doesn't work. I have no idea why it doesn't work because the "xul-ext-ublock.xpi" created in the build directory works just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Matthew -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-mentors-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
