This request initially was about updating the package in unstable. Set
the title back to avoid confusing with near Bug#1011651.

Hello!

As Michael Fladischer agreed to hand over the package, I was going to
split the changes into two uploads. This would decrease possibility that
something would go wrong. The first one should fix the RC-bug, than the
second one should ship more wide updates.

For now, I reverted changes of Vcs-Git and Vcs-Browse fields from the
d/control file and put the package[1] in that form to the mentors.d.n
site. Although, the site still mentions a previous variant of my update.

I have no permission to create new projects under "debian" namespace.
Can you please move or reimport the repository? Does it still matter
since Michael Fladischer, current maintainer, does not mind adopting the
package?

While I was trying to keep changes as little as possible, things get
harder without active VCS. So I had to modify link to Git in the
d/control file. Former repository on alioth was deleted and not
functioning anymore. So I think at Michael point of view, access rights
do not change.

Sorry for late response, I did not receive your message in my inbox and
just now saw it at bugs.d.o site.

dpkg was earlier configured for the package to automatically use single
debian patch, and hence I can choose not to bother with Quilt and manage
changes by using Git. It has a smarter merge algorithm and a wider
integration with external conflict resolvers. Besides that, the package
repository is a plain fork of the upstream one and so it has shared
history. It would be fairly odd to have two concurrent systems for
control modifications of the sole package.

Ilya Fedin already sent his patch[1] to upstream. At the time, they have still
not merged the pull request, and there is no any response from them.

I mentioned this pull request in a commit message in the Git repository for the
package. But unfortunately, it has not reflected in the .debian.tar.xz archive.

I agree with you and think it would be more correct to place the
repository in the shared debian/ namespace. But as far as I understand
only Salsa admins may transfer the created project to that namespace.
