Looks good, except for one last thing I should've checked earlier
(sorry for these piecemeal reviews); your orig tarball doesn't seem to
 match the tarball distributed upstream:

 upstream md5sum: 7e2c04fb8dbb7d39b9ee7b64565e0c4f
 mentors.d.n tarball md5sum: 0fbcb66a9ef8368fb3de5397b14eb991

Please ensure that you're using the same tarball as upstream is; if
you must repack it (e.g. to satisfy DFSG), please change the version
string (appending +dfsg is typical in this scenario) and add a brief
explanation to d/README.source or d/copyright. If you're using
git-buildpackage or similar helpers without e.g. pristine-tar, or some
other way of reconstructing pristine tarballs, you're going to end up
with a tarball with a different hashsum as well.

I guess this check could be done directly by mentors.d.n.
Anyway, I've reworked my git repo with pristine-tar enabled and it looks
better.

(Also, re: #781185, you didn't actually retitle the wnpp bug and set
 yourself as owner.)

Done.

The new (and, hopefully, last) version is on mentors.d.n.

Rodolphe

 Should be fixed.

You're also missing Thomas Anderson t...@nextgenengineering.com as the
copyright holder for a number of files in src/magellan/. (In case you
haven't done so already, please take the time to do a thorough
license/copyright check yourself when adopting/packaging new
 packages.)

Damn, you're right, I definitely need to check more carefully the
licenses and copyrights! licensecheck seems to be a good helper :)

By the way, I also suggest that you use start-stop-daemon in your
sysvinit script, especially since you're shipping a script of your own
 here.

Init script updated.

 - src/serial/*: Copyright 1997-2001 John E. Stone (j.st...@acm.org),
 3-clause BSD (+ upstream author)

Should be fixed.

debian/stamp-patched is useless and can be removed.

Done.

debian/patches/run.patch is rather redundant; /var/run is not going to
be removed from Debian in the foreseeable future and will likely be
kept around for compatibility reasons for a long time. If you do
decide to keep it though, please look into adding DEP-3 [1] headers
for it (and any future patch you add).

As it is not too invasive, I choose to keep it, I just added a simple
header.

Your package isn't actually hardened. export DEB_BUILD_MAINT_OPTIONS
= hardening=+all in d/rules isn't going to do anything if your
package's build system ignores the hardening flags set by
 dpkg-buildflags.

Right, I have seen this but I did not know how to deal with. I plan to
propose an update build system (cmake) to upstream dev but for now, I
added a debian specific patch.

An updated package has been sent on
http://mentors.debian.net/package/spacenavd if you want to check again.

Rodolphe

Well I don't really working on this package mostly because it look good
(to me!) and I didn't get any comments on it until now.
I've just upload a refreshed version with the patch that I sent
upstream, on gitorious.

I'd like to integrate it in debian but I guess freeze is not the best
moment for new packages.

I plan to contact pkg-gnome's team to see if they can sponsor me but
after Wheezy's release.

Please don't file any duplicates. If Uwe is indeed ok to let you taking
over the WNPP bug, please set yourself as owner and go on. Your package
should close the WNPP bug upon upload.

Ok, thx.

Here are a few comments about your package:

 * Please consider using a more recent debhelper compatibility level.
Version 5 is quite outdated (although still okish). Generally I suggest
 to bump debian/compat to 8 and depend in debian/control on a 8.0
version. That works down to Lenny with backports, although your package
probably won't ever enter Stable or even Oldstable anyway.

Oops, I forget this file in my updating process :) It's corrected.

 * You use a VCS not hosted by Debian. That's ok and legit, but Alioth is
nice too, and eases life to other people, potentially interested to help
you with the package. Regardless of the repository you choose, the
VCS-Browser link should point to the trunk of your repository, not to
 the project home page [1]

I've changed the VCS field to point to anonscm.debian.org git
repository. I'm waiting to be add to collab-maint project on alioth to
push my repo.

 * If I understand the purpose of your program, the section devel is not
really appropriate - maybe electronics [2] fits better.

Yes. Done.

 * Upstream's NEWS file you install as doc, is in fact a changelog. For
archive-wide consistency you might consider installing it as upstream
changelog through dh_installchangelogs(1). Figure, that would also make
 Lintian pedantically happy!

Done.

 * Please remove unneeded comments in debian/rules. Those are for your
information, and not intended to be kept.

Done.

Good work, your package looks good. As you might have noticed, my
 comments are minor pedantic notes.

Thanks. I should work on more complicated package now.

 Hi

Thanks for your interest in contributing to Debian.

Could you include some more information about this package? What is it
(copying from the description/synopsis is okay)? What is your
motivation for the packaging etc. Why is it (done as) an NMU
 (Non-Maintainer Upload)?

The two former will help you get the attention of reviewers (and
potential sponsors) and the last one... most likely they will ask you that.
Even if most of this information is readily available through various
links and in the package itself, it saves reviewers / sponsors time as
they can quickly determine if they can review the package or if we have
a relevant team that could do it.

Thanks for your comments.

Dfu-programmer is a tool to flash atmel chips.

For answer the question for nmu, I've contacted Andrew to see if he still
wanted to maintain the package.
Unfortunatly, he doesn't enough time to do it so he orphaned it.

So the new upload is not a NMU anymore and it could be my first official
package :)
