hi,

Thank you for reviewing this package!

 That's not really detailed information. I figured out that it means this :

Yes, I had (too) shorten them

 But then I saw that launchpad supports downloading a tarball for a given
 revision :
 http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~bzr/bzr-email/trunk/revision/58

 So, I suggest to simply use that in debian/copyright.

I missed this launchpad feature, and sure, I want use it if available.

But anyway that tarball include deep directory hierarchy (prepended
~bzr/bzr-email/trunk), and I don't know how to deal with this.
So, I try to add get-orig-source target to repack that tarball.

 The years of the copyright notices in debian/copyright need an update. See
 for
 example the years in emailer.py.

I update this to noted years.

 I see that some parts of debian/copyright were removed. Intentional ? It's
 not mentioned in debian/changelog.

Yes, intentional. I deleted one paragraph which is duplicate and old.
I write changelog about it.

 For completeness you could also mention in debian/changelog the changes to the
 Vcs-fields in debian/control.

I also add this.

Its changelog is to be (adding also DMUA):

bzr-email (0.0.1~bzr58-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream snapshot.
- add get-orig-source target.
  * New Maintainer. (Closes: #668266)
- DM-Upload-Allowed.
  * debian/control:
- change VCS to git.
- suggests mailx. (Closes: #626490)
  * debian/copyright:
- omit duplicate old description for getting GPL copy.
- document about repackaged upstream source.

No. That is simply my intent, means I want to add DMUA: yes, and
I hope it would also reviewed to be or not to be.

In fact, the process adding DMUA is different by DDs...

# when uploading (I asked about it after review), ...

2012-07-21 Thread Bart Martens
Hi KURASHIKI Satoru,

As I commented earlier for your package at mentors uploaded there on 2012-06-28
00:14, detailed information on how the repackaged source was obtained, and on
how this can be reproduced should be provided in debian/copyright.
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/best-pkging-practices.html#bpp-origtargz

I found this in debian/copyright :

Source: branch from http://launchpad.net/bzr-email and hand-packed
 by tar cf - | gzip -9.

That's not really detailed information. I figured out that it means this :

bzr branch lp:bzr-email
rm -r bzr-email/.bzr
rm bzr-email/.bzrignore
mv bzr-email bzr-email_0.0.1~bzr58
tar cf bzr-email_0.0.1~bzr58.orig.tar bzr-email_0.0.1~bzr58
gzip -9 bzr-email_0.0.1~bzr58.orig.tar

But then I saw that launchpad supports downloading a tarball for a given
revision :
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~bzr/bzr-email/trunk/revision/58

So, I suggest to simply use that in debian/copyright.

The years of the copyright notices in debian/copyright need an update. See for

I see that some parts of debian/copyright were removed. Intentional ? It's

Hi,

Now that the freeze has started, this package is not fit for wheezy.
During freeze, it is generally better to upload new upstream releases
to experimental instead of unstable, to allow important fixes to the
wheezy version to go through unstable as usual. Please state your
intention (usertag for-wheezy or not-for-wheezy) and amend your
package accordingly, either abiding by the [Freeze Policy] or setting
the distribution to experimental.

Please see:

 I've already given up this package for wheezy, so I will delete
 package from mentors.d.o soon.

 (As you've already tagged this RFS, I will untag it and re-put on
 mentors after releasing wheezy.)

As you wish.

No need to remove the not-fit-for-wheezy tag, on the contrary you
could do one of the following:

 - close the RFS;
 - tag it wontfix and not-for-wheezy;
 - re-upload with distribution set to experimental and tag it
not-for-wheezy.

Kind regards, Thibaut.

I repackaged it simply to branch its repository and tar-gzip by hand,
because upstream distributes it only in bzr branch.

According to the developers-reference, I might have to put -9 to
pack in tgz...

OK (I assumed that its DEP-5 Source: field url represent that).
Now I understand that Source: field may be free format text, so
I will replace it with something like:

Source: branched latest bzr changes from http://launchpad.net/bzr-email
 and packed by tar cvf - | gzip -c -9.
