gnustep-make was uploaded, but nevertheless thanks very much for the
review.

 While looking at gnustep-make, I noticed the following:
 gnustep-make: Possible OpenPGP signature found at:

 Could you please do that?

I didn't do it because the public key was not available on the
keyservers. However, later on I figured out that it's in the keyring
at Savannah, so I'll do it in the next upload.

 I get quite a lot of lintian messages (end of the attached build log).
 Can you please have a look? Also lintian warns me for: gnustep-make:
 package-contains-empty-directory usr/lib/GNUstep/* It seems installation
 of files is not going well.

These are expected; the package creates an empty directory layout.
The broken symlinks to config.{sub,guess} is a lintian false positive;
they are not actually broken.
I have submitted a patch upstream for the spelling errors.

 I don't like commit b5d1db. What happens when the package is NMU'ed?

I think it'll be OK:

$ dpkg --compare-versions 2.6.6-2.1 lt 2.6.6-2.1.1~ || echo no
$ dpkg --compare-versions 2.6.6-2+nmu1 lt 2.6.6-2+nmu1.1~ || echo no

 Minor things on the use of the git repository: I recommend tagging a
 Debian release only at the moment of or after upload.

Of course. I tagged it a few hours ago, only after I saw it was
uploaded in the archive.

 Furthermore, to avoid confusion it is not uncommon to have the
 release marked as UNRELEASED until the final upload.

Sure, but since I uploaded it to mentors.d.n, supposedly to be
uploaded directly by a DD to the official archive, it ought to have a
valid distribution field.

Thanks.

I can't promise that I will upload the package, but if you can push your
changes to the packaging git I promise that I will have a look. (I
prefer the git over just the package as it makes it cleaner visible what
your changes are and if you properly separate your commits and write
proper log messages, also the logic is better preserved.)

Never mind, I was fooled by the web interface of gitweb [1], which
didn't show the changes of the experimental branch. Going to look into
it this weekend.

Thanks. The changes are pushed as you have noticed, but -gui depends
on gnustep-base/1.24.6 so that has to be uploaded first, and since in
the meantime I discovered a serious issue with gnustep-make
(#752833), it is pointless to upload without a fixed -make.

Bug#749452: RFS: gnustep-gui/0.24.0-1

2014-05-26 Thread Yavor Doganov
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal
Control: block -1 with 749142

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package gnustep-gui. There are a
lot of lintian errors about GFDL invariant sections due to what I
believe is a bug in lintian (nothing changed upstream).

It builds these binary packages:

gnustep-gui-common - GNUstep GUI Library - common files
gnustep-gui-doc - Documentation for the GNUstep GUI Library
gnustep-gui-runtime - GNUstep GUI Library - runtime files
libgnustep-gui-dev - GNUstep GUI header files and static libraries
libgnustep-gui0.24 - GNUstep GUI Library
libgnustep-gui0.24-dbg - GNUstep GUI Library - debugging symbols

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/gnustep-gui

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gnustep-gui/gnustep-gui_0.24.0-1.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

gnustep-gui (0.24.0-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New major upstream release:
- Provides a more complete implementation of NSBox (Closes: #711938).
  * debian/patches/say-build.patch: Remove; fixed upstream.
  * debian/patches/info-direntry.patch: New.
  * debian/patches/series: Update.
  * debian/rules (v_base): Bump to 1.24.6.
(install-doc): Do not create User/Developer symlinks. Remove gsdoc
files, do not delete info ones.
(binary-arch): Remove gnustep-gpbs from generated shlibs, will be
merged into -common.
  * debian/control.m4 (Build-Depends): Replace libtiff4-dev with
libtiff-dev (Closes: #736010).
(Build-Depends-Indep): Remove texi2html.
(libgnustep-gui`'SOV_GUI-dbg) Conflicts: Remove
libgnustep-gui0.18-dbg, add libgnustep-gui0.22-dbg.
(Vcs-Git): Use the canonical URI.
(Standards-Version): Bump to 3.9.5 (no changes needed).
  * debian/control: Regenerate.
  * debian/gnustep-gui-doc.doc-base.manual: Add HTML format; it is now
properly built and installed following the texi2html-makeinfo switch
(Closes: #732137).
  * debian/copyright: Update copyright years; typo fix.
