Bug#757414: RFS: chrony/1.30-1 - Set the computer clock from time servers on the Net

2014-08-09 Thread Eriberto
Hi Joachim,

Thanks for your reply.

I saw problems in d/copyright yet.

1. You can remove getdate.c. In his license:

/* As a special exception, you may create a larger work that contains
   part or all of the Bison parser skeleton and distribute that work
   under terms of your choice, so long as that work isn't itself a
   parser generator using the skeleton or a modified version thereof
   as a parser skeleton.

2. contrib/DNSchrony/DNSchrony.pl: You didn't put the author name.

3. Do you really searched for all source code authors??? I also found these:

Richard P. Curnow
J. Hannken-Illjes
John G. Hasler
Timo Teras

Regards,

Eriberto

Bug#757414: RFS: chrony/1.30-1 - Set the computer clock from time servers on the Net

2014-08-08 Thread Joachim Wiedorn
Hello Eriberto,

thank you for your reply and your hints.

Now I have updated all items as you have written. And finally I have
forwarded some patches to upstream and have added a notice into the
patch files.

The updated package is already on mentors.d.n:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/chrony

Alternatively, you can download the package with dget:

  dget -x http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/c/chrony/chrony_1.30-1.dsc

So I hope all is perfect for sponsoring!

By the way it would be very nice if you could set the "DM" flag for
me to this package.

---
Have a nice day.

Joachim (Germany)

Hi Joachim!

Please,

1. d/clean: you can safely remove chrony.html and chrony.info.

2. d/control: you can remove as build dependency the 'dpkg-dev (>=
1.16.1~)'. It is useless for DH9.

3. d/copyright: please, revise all upstream code and update this file.
You must add 2014 to upstream and packaging dates. I found extra names
and licenses. Tip: you can use '$ grep -sriC5 copyright *'.

4. d/dirs: the d/install will create the /usr/share/chrony directory.
So, you can remove it from d/dirs.

5. d/rules: remove the useless line '# -*- makefile -*-'

I will wait for you. Thanks!

Cheers,

Eriberto

Bug#757414: RFS: chrony/1.30-1 - Set the computer clock from time servers on the Net

2014-08-07 Thread Joachim Wiedorn
Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "chrony":

 * Package name: chrony
   Version : 1.30-1
   Upstream Author : Miroslav Lichvar
 * URL : http://chrony.tuxfamily.org
 * License : GPL-2
   Section : admin

It builds those binary packages:

chrony - Set the computer clock from time servers on the Net

By the way it would be very nice if someone want to set the "DM" flag for
me to this package.

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/chrony

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/c/chrony/chrony_1.30-1.dsc

More information about chrony can be obtained from
http://chrony.tuxfamily.org/

Changes since the last upload:

  * New upstream release with following bugfixes:
- Fix crash when selecting with multiple preferred sources.
- Fix frequency calculation with large frequency offsets.
- Fix code writing drift and RTC files to compile correctly.
- Fix -4/-6 options in chronyc to not reset hostname set by -h.
- Fix refclock sample validation with sub-second polling interval.
- Set stratum correctly with non-PPS SOCK refclock and local stratum.
- Modify dispersion accounting in refclocks to prevent PPS getting
stuck with large dispersion and not accepting new samples.
- Move faq.txt (PHP style) to a plain text file FAQ. Closes: #415729

  * Add gpg signature of upstream developer for use with uscan.
  * Update debian/watch, add check of upstream gpg signature.
  * Update all patches.

  * Bugfix: Use /etc/adjtime in postinst script to recognize
  UTC hardware clock.  Closes: #680498
  * Use logrotate instead of cron script. Closes: #323966
  * debian/rules: disable test simulation.

   Joachim Wiedorn
