I think your changes are fine and I just uploaded your package to experimental. If there are any additional problems, we can make iterative changes and upload them later. Simon, you added yourself to the Uploaders of alot. Are you still interested in maintaining the package? Thanks! cheers, josch signature.asc Description: signature

I'd convinced myself that I just needed to give up on using git for now, so I planning to commit the patches to svn under the current PAPT packaging area. I'll do that and then work with you (Johannes) to upload the new package. -Jordan signature.asc Description: signature

Hi Ben, Quoting Ben Finney (2017-04-21 14:44:52) > How is this going? thanks a lot for the ping! > Jordan, have you made more changes that should be released? > > Johannes, are you waiting on any changes before you approve and upload > this package? Jordan and I were writing each other privately in February. Currently progress is stalled on the question of how to maintain the package. The options are: 1. maintaining it under the umbrella of the Python Applications Packaging Team but they use svn which Jordan wants to avoid in favour of git. There is the question of whether it would be acceptable to use PAPT+git: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/python-apps-team/2017-February/013126.html But as the last message indicates, there seems to be no consensus yet whether to use git-dpm or switch to gbp-pq when moving python-apps from svn to git... 2. using collab-maint with whatever git packaging workflow but it seems that Jordan isn't sure yet which one to pick for maintenance of alot Jordan, are you still on board? Otherwise I just pick the option I like and start committing your work. :) Thanks! cheers, josch signature.asc Description: signature

I agree for (a). I think the new version addresses (b) and (d) through (h). For (c), I replied to the bug and took ownership. I think we should see if this goes upstream soon since upstream seems interested in the change. > You may also want to close bug #792108 with that release. You may also want to add yourself to debian/copyright if your changes are substantial (like switching to pybuild and compat level 10 might be). Feel free to contact me for sponsorship as I'm an alot user and also fixed/filed a couple of bugs together with upstream. I'm thus very interested in keeping this package in Debian. I meant to say that I planned to put it into git under the PAPT, not collab-maint. So, the change would be moving from svn to git. I did apply to be added to the alioth PAPT project. -Jordan signature.asc Description: signature

Thus, I don't feel qualified to review anyone's work. As far as uploading goes, I'm fairly sure my GPG key has expired. For these reasons, I kindly ask that anyone with the inclination would review and upload the package. I do have reservations about moving the package from the PAPT umbrella into collab-maint, but it's not my call anymore. Cheers, Simon
