the Qt linguist tools have recently been split out from the qt dev tools
to make it easier to just require those.

to me source files is always the preferred method to go. If that adds
build-deps no problem with me. 

OTOH there is nothing wrong with binary files that come with a proper
license/copyright and can be recreated by available tools with a
documented procedure.

So if you want my recommendation: go for the larger build-deps and text
files for your orig.tar.gz. That's always easier to review just in case.

Compiling Qt translation files

Hello!

I just got my `retext' package accepted.

Currently the orig tarball includes compiled binary arch-independent
.qm files (but I can easily change this, since I'm the upstream author
too).
Will it be better if I provide .ts text-format source for translations
and compile them during build? This will add a big build-dependency on
Qt.
