I am not interested with akonadi, and I dislike the need to mysql, when the future will be nosql... I loved kmail using plein old mbox file as strorage but I really dislike to store in sql engine. Upstream answer by email but is not willing to do plain release. The project is not an abandonware but is set in low maintenance mode. They will fix other bugs in svn if we send patch.
