Bug#392635: rosegarden: always repeats incoming notes

2006-10-12 Thread Sebastian Reichelt
Package: rosegarden
Version: 1:1.2.4-1
Severity: normal

With Rosegarden running, all notes I play on my piano connected via MIDI are
instantly sent back to the piano. This is really annoying because the piano
then plays them twice at the same time, resulting in nasty sounds.

It does not matter whether I am actually recording from the piano or not. If
there is an option to turn this behavior off, I have not found it.

This is rather odd . . .

When using the notation editor to write a tune in 12/8, the
notation editor will not allow the fourth measure to end with
an (eighth) rest. If you try, and then begin the next (5th)
measure with a note, the notation editor will pull that note
into the fourth measure and beam it with the last note of
that measure.

I was not able to reproduce this in 4/4, and was not able to
reproduce it at the boundary between measures 1 and 2 when
in 12/8. Only at the boundary between measures 4 and 5 does
this seem to occur.

This is an old bug filed against an old version of rosegarden. I am not able

current version of rosegarden?

Thanks,

Package: rosegarden2

Severity: important

If I start rosegarden, and click either Notate or Sequence, I get

Rosegarden Editor: Segmentation Violation: this shouldn't happen, sorry.
Rosegarden Sequencer: Segmentation Violation: this shouldn't happen, sorry.

A debug build returned

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

#3 0x0041e889 in main (argc=1, argv=0x7fa91bb8,
envp=0x7fa91bc8) at Main.c:488

which pointed to the reason: The calls to the XtVa... functions freely
mix int-sized (4) objects like 0 and pointer-sized (8) objects, and
terminate the arglists with a four byte NULL value (which will only
accitentally work in some cases).

I changed my lines 189ff in editor/src/Widget.c to
  XtVaSetValues(topBox,
XtNleft, (XtPointer) XawChainLeft,
XtNright, (XtPointer) XawChainRight,
XtNtop,(XtPointer) XawChainTop,
XtNbottom, (XtPointer) XawChainTop,
XtNhorizDistance, (XtPointer) 0,
XtNvertDistance, (XtPointer) 0,
XtNborderWidth, (XtPointer) 0,
(XtPointer) NULL);
and now the editor starts. Of course, that is just an accident until the
other XtVa... calls are fixed, but I will not do that at 3 in the
morning.

Oh, and there is a build-dependecy on xaw3dg-dev missing.

Yours, Florian Hars.
