Bug#517844: Inconsistent versions of rosegarden and rosegarden-data

2009-03-02 Thread daniele
Package: rosegarden
Version: 1:1.7.3-1
Tags: sid

When I try to install rosegarden, apt will exit with the following error:

$apt-get install rosegarden
[...]

Which means: some packages could not be installed [...]. Following packages
has unresolved dependencies:
rosegarden: Depends: rosegarden-data (= 1:1.7.2-2) but 1:1.7.3-1 is
going to
be installed.
E: Package is not complete

This is because the sid repositories contains inconsistent versions of
rosegarden/rosegarden-data, which can be found also on the website:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/rosegarden
The title lists 1:1.7.3-1 and others, but if you click on i386 section to
download the file, you get:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/i386/rosegarden/download
Where the title says:
rosegarden_1.7.2-2_i386.deb
Which is inconsistent with the rosegarden-data version (1:1.7.3-1):
http://packages.debian.org/sid/all/rosegarden-data/download
Looking in the pool, the file is not listed:
http://ftp.it.debian.org/debian/pool/main/r/rosegarden/

I had to manually download the correct rosegarden-data then install
rosegarden.

package: rosegarden
severity: wishlist

Due to a problem i came over today.
someone have installed lenny, and wants to install a newer version of
rosegarden, so they take the packages from sid that is rosegarden
1.7.1, (the packages that is in lenny now is the 1.7.0),

They experienced that rosegarden did not detect the sox packages, even
the sox packages was installed.(sox is vital for rosegarden to handle
audio)

This problem occure if you first install the sid version of
rosegarden, before you install the rosegarden from lenny.
Upgrade rosegarden afterward from lenny to sid does not give any problem.

So to awoid this problem is my wish is that you upgrade the packages
to rosegarden 1.7.2 in lenny.

regards Alf Tonny Bätz
