svn commit notifications sent to this list
Here I'am again. I would like to have this mailing list subscribed to the -commit mailing list of our projects on alioth, so that we receive notifications of commits together with commit messages and patches. My experience in other pkg- projects on alitoh is that notifications will improve monitoring the liveness of a project and foster fruitful discussions on list. That's why we have the CIA bot on the IRC channel, and that's why I'm asking the list to be subscribed instead of simply subscribing myself to the -commit mailing list. Last time I asked Jerome opposed to that, but now, AFAIK, he is no longer a member of the ocaml maint task force, having no longer the maintainership of any ocaml related package. (That's what he said, don't remember if on this list or to me in private mail, I'm not trying to kicking out anyone of course) So, here comes the poll: does subscribing this list to the -commit list of the pkg-ocaml-maint alioth project bother any of you, guys? Thanks for your attention, Cheers. PS you can have a look at the amount of traffic on the -commit list on its archives available here: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-ocaml-maint-commits/ -- Stefano Zacchiroli -*- Computer Science PhD student @ Uny Bologna, Italy [EMAIL PROTECTED],debian.org,bononia.it} -%- http://www.bononia.it/zack/ If there's any real truth it's that the entire multidimensional infinity of the Universe is almost certainly being run by a bunch of maniacs. -!- signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Hi, Stefano Zacchiroli wrote: So, here comes the poll: does subscribing this list to the -commit list of the pkg-ocaml-maint alioth project bother any of you, guys? I don't really see the point in merging two mailing lists (users who want commits can subscribe to -commits independently) but if there's a consensus about it I won't oppose to it. BTW, Zack I don't think I have write access to the webpage of d-o-m. It would be nice if you could put our new policy on it. You do have write access. Still, there was an issue with the .txt version of the policy which was erroneously bearing the zack group id instead of the pkg-ocaml-maint one. Now it is fixed. Re: svn commit notifications sent to this list
So, here comes the poll: does subscribing this list to the -commit list of the pkg-ocaml-maint alioth project bother any of you, guys? Well, I would say that I'm not fond of it. I'm actually subscribed to -maint mostly because I maintain one Ocaml-related package and want to hear about possible transition/problems with Ocaml stuff. Getting commit messages would be extra useless stuff for me and I'd vote for keeping the lists separated. However, I'm not an active member in the community here so don't consider my advice with too much value. If changing things is suitable and valuable for you guys, then I'm OK with that and I'll live with that. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Re: ocaml-sha1 library
The upstream author made his interface compatible with the stdlib's Digest module. My packaging now doesn't touch the upstream Caml source code at all. I found it easier to use a completely different, shorter Makefile, based on OCamlMakefile. I put it in the debian/ subdirectory, and in debian/rules I just call $(MAKE) -f debian/Makefile ...
