quik bootline
Hi, I REALLY need to boot my system with the [device:]parno/path/to/image syntax in quik (I have a 5500). How I can do this? Thanks in advance. - Cesar ___ Yahoo! GeoCities Tudo para criar o seu site: ferramentas fáceis de usar, espaço de sobra e acessórios. http://br.geocities.yahoo.com/
Partitioning questions
Hi all, I have a 5500/250 and I'm planning to wipe the 1GB MacOS partition I have - or at least shrinking it to be only a vehicle for BootX booting - to make more room for Linux. (I really prefer to wipe out MacOS, I already boot via quik direct to Linux) 1) Can I REALLY wipe MacOS from OldWorld PowerMacs, like can be done on NewWorld? 2) Is there any way to delete all those patch partitions created for MacOS without needing to wipe everything? 3) Is MOL trustful to run using disk images? MOL, GNOME 2 and so on
1) I got the MOL 0.96.5 debs (mol and mol-modules-source, I had to compile the modules my hand because of my handmade kernel) at http://people.debian.org/~daenzer/mol/ and now sheep networking isn't working. In the mol-modules I compiled there are: mol.o, molsymglue.o and sheep_net.o In the mol-modules-2.4.19 provided by daenzer there are: mol.o, molsymglue.o, sheep.o, ethertap.o and tun.o Is there something I forgot? 2) Is it just with me or in the latest GNOME 2 update from sid the gnome-panel "lost" the place of the apps menu? It only shows Debian and KDE menus. -- Cesar Cardoso - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - www.cesarcardoso.tk "Juiz é juiz, bandeirinha é bandeirinha" (Galvão Bueno) signature.asc Description: PGP signature

I made some stress tests like transferring 50MB (remember it's a 10Mbps network), it passed. Also it doesn't get "timeouts". Tulip madness
Hi all, I have a PowerMac 5500/250 with the built-in Ethernet card (a Tulip one). Kernel is 2.4.19-rc1-ben0. I never managed to make the Ethernet card work right on GNU/Linux, previously on YDL and also on Debian. If I load the "tulip" module, it finds the wrong MAC and doesn't work at all. If I load the "de4x5" module, it works for a short time. After a few minutes, I have to restart networking because it loses contact with the other computers on the network. I've read that the Tulip code on the kernel is borked. Do I need to buy an PCI card (like a RTL8139-based one) to make networking work right? -- Cesar Cardoso - [EMAIL PROTECTED] - www.cesarcardoso.tk "Tá aí a lua. Que beleza!
