I don't have access to the build host (blaauw2) and I've some doubts it would still have that file. Maybe our kernel team and powerpc porters have suggestions? boost binaries are missing on powerpc, mips, mipsel and m68k (was Re: ICU transition status)

solution to: find a way to type bracket on powerbook g3
Hello everybody, Maybe we're done. The problem was: I want to type brackets [] and {} Thomas Halinka suggested dpkg-reconfigure, I followed (choosing mac/unknown/italian/standard/standard) while in WindowMaker and nothing seemed changed until I rebooted... ...everything was upset, no charachter correspondence at all... in the meanwhile Wolfgang Pfiffer, Gabriel Paubert and Giovanni Ridolfi made some other useful suggestions, that I was not able to follow due to the upset, and asked about my keyboard layout (QZERTY, old italian typewriter, I don't know why in use on powerbook g3). After reinstalling debian (thinking later that was simpler going up throuh root terminal history...) I ran again dpkg-reconfigure console-data because, during installation, I choosed US keyboard layout (safer, something wrong but usable). At this time, just for trying, was chosen as keyboard layout: mac / unknown / italian / standard / iBook Incredibly (standard? iBook?) works now. It recognizes QZERTY (exept § typed as É) and there are brackets: option + 4{ option + =} option + 5[ option + -] I hope will be helpful for others... Re: can't find a way to type brackets on powerbook g3
I've said my keyboard starts with QZERTY, I've chosen US standard, and now recognizes all characters as before... QZERTY is not US, is old italian typewriter standard I rebooted and now all is messed up...no character correspondence at all, I'm writing from my old win desktop :( and more, seem that I've lost 'a' and 'tab', so I can't do dpkg-reconfigure console-data now I'm reinstalling linux... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. can't find a way to type brackets on powerbook g3
Hello everyone, I'm moving to linux and I installed debian sarge on my old powerbook g3 (lombard). Everyting worked fine and I added window maker to get a confortable developing platform with vi and gcc. But I'm not able to type square and curly brackets... I was trying option+(), option+shift+(), alt+..., ctrl+... alt+shift+..., ctrl+shift+..., almost with every character on the keyboard Then I tried to compose ascii code (option+fn+123...), unsuccessfully, so I made some search on google (even some group) with keywords like ascii debian ppc, linux keyboard powerbook... but I couldn't find anything... where is my mistake? thanks in advance domenico -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. porting debian on powerpc64 (ibm pseries)
hi, my job made me very near to a couple of ibm powerpc64. i'll have full control on both of them for months. one of them is going to run linux (suse, at the moment), but my own personal wish is to make debian run on it and maybe to start a port. what i have done: 1. i started peeking http://linuxppc64.org 2. i patched the kernel 3. i patched binutils 4. i didn't patch modutils (i don't want modules now) what i have to do: 1. compile the kernel 2. lots of thing i still don't even imagine as i understood i need a cross compiler. i usually work on i386. how do i setup it? i need a lot of suggestions. thanks cavok -[ Domenico Andreoli, aka cavok --[ http://filibusta.crema.unimi.it/~cavok/gpgkey.asc ---[ 3A0F 2F80 F79C 678A 8936 4FEE 0677 9033 A20E BC50 pgpotOAxN0XxH.pgp Description: PGP signature
