Is relation of *-source packages to *-modules-$kernelversion hardcoded or is there a way to have mol-modules-source as the kernel modules source package name and mol-modules-$kernelversion as the name of the binary package containing the kernel modules? I would like to have this because mol-source as the package name for the package containing only the source for the mol kernel modules is misleading. Hi and thank you for taking care of MOL. I tried to build de modules from de source package in incoming against my local kernel. The modules build but the package can not be installed because it tries to overwrite some /lib/modules/2.6.18/modules.* from my kernel package. Nevertheless, I installed the modules 'by hand' and launching Panther (inside X, I have not tested with framebuffer) works fine, even the network that I didn't managed to make work before. [ waldi: This is about adding mol-moules-source to linux-modules-extra-2.6 ] BTW to all: Comaintainers for MOL are always welcome. There is plenty of work to be done. Just ask on [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you are interested. Assistance would be appreciated. I agree that the out of tree module building for MOL should be done in linux-modules-extra-2.6. This was the main reason why I did not upload the modules as well. I could not figure out how to add a module only for one particular arch. Is this possible at all with the current framework? Mol modules should only be built on powerpc. They are useless on other architectures. gaudenz > > -- > O T A V I OS A L V A D O R > - > E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] UIN: 5906116 > GNU/Linux User: 239058 GPG ID: 49A5F855 > Home Page: http://www.freedom.ind.br/otavio > - > "Microsoft gives you Windows ... Now, it would make sense to add the kernel modules to the out-of-tree package Bastian Blank is working on. I wanted to do this myself, but clearly don't have time for it. Would you take care of that ? Once the module sources are in that package, they will be rebuilt by the kernel team with each abi bump, so it makes sense to have it there.
