Bug#697970: cups: printing gets wrong after some pages on Epson Stylus Photo 750

As you might have seen, I have uploaded a possible patch for this issue to
Debian experimental, as cups 1.6.1-2 . Can you possibly try cups 1.6.1-2 and
report on this bug if it works reliably for you? If that's the case, I might
backport the fix to Wheezy and try to get it through (which I doubt is
possible at this point of the freeze though).

Cheers,

OdyX

I was just facing the problem when you wrote to me !
I don't know why it appeared again, maybe the lpadmin settings above
where lost for some reason.
Anyway it let me try the new experimental cups release and notice that
it did not solve the problem.

I reapplied the lpadmin commands above and the problem was gone.
Regards,

Denis

Bug#700295: cups: French debconf templates translation

2013-02-14 Thread Didier 'OdyX' Raboud
Hi Julien,

Many thanks for this update, it's a great amount of work! I have now uploaded
these changes to experimental, as cups 1.6.1-2.

Actually, this .po file is now debian/manpage-po4a/po/fr.po in the cups source
(debian/po/fr.po is the debconf's prompts translations); how can I "do the
right thing" for the future updates of cups? (Or make sure it is tracked as a
translatable file) ?

Thanks in advance, cheers,

OdyX

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package left unowned files on
the system after purge, which is a violation of policy 6.8 (or 10.8):

http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-maintainerscripts.html#s-removedetails

Filing this as important as having a piuparts clean archive is a release
goal since lenny.

2013-02-14 Thread Didier 'OdyX' Raboud
Hi all,

as a matter of completeness, here's Tim Waugh's comment from the upstream
tracker [0] on the road taken by Red Hat:

Le jeudi, 14 février 2013 15.48:38, Tim Waugh a écrit :
> FWIW, in Red Hat Enterprise Linux we'll be addressing this differently: all

Now that we have released upstream's invasive fix to all our suites, I'm quite
sure it's not worth investigating this alternative idea.

Cheers,

OdyX
