Any chance of getting a newer ghostscript now? I updated lcms2 because I
wanted a newer ghostscript :)

Thanks

Neat, thanks.

Ghostscript 9.07 and newer use the AGPL. I assume that would be fine
for most uses but it's possible some rdeps would need to be updated to
provide a download link so it's probably worth a NEWS.Debian entry.

Jonathan

CUPS 1.7.2 released - As today is Final Freeze for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS I had to rush it in, how to proceed with GIT?

2014-04-10 Thread Till Kamppeter
Hi,

I have rushed CUPS 1.7.2 into Ubuntu, so that it made it before today's
Final Freeze for Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 LTS (to be released in one week
from now).

Therefore I did not do anything with the Debian GIT as it had taken me
too much time. Especially I also do not know how the branches master and
master-ubuntu can be based on different source releases.

I recommend you to wait for it to make it into Ubuntu in a few hours,
download it from Launchpad and then use my _orig.tar.bz2 also for
Debian, so that syncing of Debian and Ubuntu versions goes flawlessly
after the Ubuntu 14.04 release. I will update the ubuntu-master branch
as soon as you have switched master over to 1.7.2.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but due to the tons of bug fixes in 1.7.2
we had to get it in.

   Till

Bug#661544: Re: Bug#661544: cups: fontconfig conf file should be in conf.avail, not conf.d

I do not really no for what this file is good. It simply came in with

 of cups-filters.

I actually ran into this file just yesterday, while troubleshooting a
misbehaving PDF file. These are the aliases recommended by
http://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/poppler/ to work around historical
issues.

The ZapfDingbats alias looks like a workaround for fdo#19128 (Debian
#590487, LP: #130687). It's fixed upstream in fontconfig 2.9.0.

The Symbol alias looks like a workaround for fdo#6478 (LP: #37745). It's
fixed upstream in fontconfig 2.3.95. (I suspect that change actually
introduced Debian #528808).

As these both have upstream fixes now, IMO this file can be dropped.

Bug#744162: ghostscript: diff for NMU version 9.05~dfsg-8.1

2014-04-10 Thread Buildd user
Package: ghostscript
Version: 9.05~dfsg-8
Severity: normal
Tags: patch pending

Dear maintainer,

As part of the arm64 port:
http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/architecture.php?a=arm64suite=sid

I've prepared an NMU for ghostscript (versioned as 9.05~dfsg-8.1)
which fixes a couple of trival bugs (#717826 and #733018). As these
bugs have been around for months already and are are uncontroversial
I've uploaded it to DELAYED/2 so it'll get built soon.

Complain if that's a problem.

Wookey
