Neuer User deutscher Sprache
Liebe Debian Gemeinde. (Ich spreche nur Deutsch German speaking) Ein paar einfache Fragen an euch: Ich habe bis vor einem Jahr noch im Wesentlichen mit Windows XP gearbeitet. Dann bin ich aus Überzeugung auf Linux umgestiegen ! Da ich damals natürlich noch keinerlei Erfahrung mit Unix bzw. Linux besessen habe, bin ich mit Suse Linux eingestiegen. Diese Software ist für Einsteiger deswegen Vorteilhaft, weil sie beim Installieren kaum konfiguriert werden muss und deswegen ein Anfänger ein voll funktionsfähiges Linux System besitzt in das er sich einarbeiten kann. Grundlegendes auf der Konsole, wie Benutzer und deren Rechte anlegen, oder die fstab bearbeiten kann ich inzwischen. Verschiedene Shell bearbeiten kann ich noch nicht. Auch könnte ich unter Linux noch keine exotische Hardware integrieren . Auch ist die Paketinstallation unter Suse mit rpm sehr einfach und es muss sehr selten compiliert werden. Ich würde gerne auf Debian aus Stabilitätsgründen und auch ein wenig aus Überzeugung umsteigen !! Es gibt inzwischen ja die Debian Version 3.1 . 1.) Frage: Ich habe ja schon ein wenig Erfahrung wie oben beschrieben. Aber halt nicht genug. Könnte ich Debian 3.1 selber installieren ? 2.) Frage: Arbeitet Debian 3.1 auch mit dem KDE als Oberfläche ? 3.) Frage: Sind Sind Programme Open Office 2.0 , xsane , Gimp und Kontact auch vorhanden. 4.) Frage: Könnte ich meine Desktopeinstellungen und Verzeichnisse des Desktops mit übernehmen in dem ich mein altes homeverzeichniss in Debian integriere ? 5.) Frage: Ist das Partitionieren der Festplatte und Mountpunktsetzen wie bei SUSE auch bei Debian graphisch möglich. 6.) Frage: Sind die wichtigsten Pakete zum Installieren schon compiliert und können sie sofort installiert werden, oder müssen sie zusammengebaut werden ? SUSE kann mit dem Yast2 die Pakete automatisch installieren. Gibt es so eine Funktion auch bei Debian ? Vielen Dank für eure geduldige Beantwortung !! Ich freue mich auf eine Antwort ! Frage: Sind die wichtigsten Pakete zum Installieren schon compiliert und können sie sofort installiert werden, oder müssen sie zusammengebaut werden ? SUSE kann mit dem Yast2 die Pakete automatisch installieren. Gibt es so eine Funktion auch bei Debian ? Ja, gibt es. Und im Vergleich zu SuSEs Paketverwaltung ist Debian haushoch überlegen. If you make James be lynched by the mob, I will go as well. All the people who think it's appropriate to blackmail the project with full or partial withdrawal of their services should probably start listing in great detail those contributions which we would be missing if they actually followed through on their threats. I'm a big fan of debian-announce in that period. Currently though it's a moderated list with a quite limited set of postings and the bother of needing to get through the moderation is offputting. There has been some policy change for this list since the introduction of [EMAIL PROTECTED] and maybe we should use debian-news instead of debian-announce but there's no reason to not use any of those 2 lists. I do think -news would be appropriate. I forget who is allowed to post there however. Well, if James himself isn't the problem, then the problem lies in the many hats he's wearing (to use your words). If he is overloaded, he should step back from one or more of those posts and let others fill in. Honestly: I _do_ value the work James does (though I don't see much of it, I still assume he does a lot in the background to keep the Debian infrastructure working).
