get.debian.net installing gNewsomething instead of Debian

2010-04-11 Thread Frank Bauer
Hi,

yesterday I came across an older laptop that I wanted to upgrade from
Windows XP to Debian testing.

Since the CD drive went south, I had the only option to use the
installation directly from Windows.
So I went to the usual http://get.debian.net, used the win32 instaler
loader from the first link there, but instead of Debian it started to
install gNewsense.

Nice All Fools Day joke, but unfortunately off by 10 days.

Regards,
Frank

The download link for the Windows installer points to site

http://goodbye-microsoft.com

which advertises gNewSense. I guess the get.debian.org guys just didn't
notice the change (adding a Cc).

Re: Money for Debian

Hi,

You can donate by clicking on the Click and Pledge link here:
http://www.spi-inc.org/donations and indicate that the money should go
to Debian. It's just as easy as using Paypal, and you don't need a
 Paypal account.

SPI (the US umbrella organization for Debian) does not use Paypal
because of Paypal's problematic history of mismanaging accounts.

donat...@ffis.de is a registered address at Paypal.

Though both Don's and Martin's answers were actually provided by
http://www.debian.org/donations linked from the homepage, it may be
linked from http://www.debian.org/intro/help as well.

See patch attached, reviews are welcome.
