alpha architecture imported in debian-ports.org

2011-05-09 Thread Aurelien Jarno
Hi all,

The debian-ports.org service has been moved to a new machine last
week-end, which allowed to add new architectures. I have therefore
imported the alpha architecture (both unstable and experimental) as
of 2011-05-07 to debian-ports.org.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find signed .changes file for the
.deb files listed in [2]. They are present on the debian-ports.org ftp
server, but given it's not possible to verify their checksum against a
signed .changes file, they are not listed in the Packages file. This can
be fixed by either adding the missing .changes file if they can be found
later, or by triggering binNMU once the build daemons have been started.

To use the new archive, you should first install the
debian-ports-archive-keyring package [3], and then you modify your
/etc/apt/sources.list as follow, or using a mirror listed on [4]:

  deb http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian unstable main
  deb http://ftp.debian-ports.org/debian unreleased main

The source entry should still point to a Debian mirror. The unreleased
entry is there for packages that need to be patched with regard to the
official Debian sources to be built on alpha. More details are available
on [5].

Michael Cree mc...@orcon.net.nz and Bill MacAllister
w...@stanford.edu have expressed their interest in maintaining this
port in the future, please coordinate with them if you are also
interested.

Regards,
Aurelien

Despite a few hppa people complaining about the removal of this

[7]. I am still waiting for some people to maintain this port in the
future.

RE: alpha architecture imported in debian-ports.org

2011-05-09 Thread Uwe Schindler
Hi Aurelien,

thanks for taking care. I changed by sources.list and added the keyring,
package download was fine after that.

But my already up-to-date (according to latest debian-sid) installation did
not want to dist-upgrade anymore, a normal upgrade works:

thetaphi@alpha:~$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
[sudo] password for thetaphi:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Failed
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
gtk-doc-tools : Depends: highlight but it is not going to be installed
 highlight-common : Breaks: gtk-doc-tools ( 1.17-2) but 1.17-1 is to be
installed
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused
by held packages.
thetaphi@alpha:~$

So there seem to be some files/packages missing?

Uwe
