Yep, in dpkg 1.14.5 (2007-07-03).

This was due to a bug from an old dpkg-source, just rebuilding the
source package will fix this.

I agree that the data should not be reaching the PTS in that form to
begin with.

On my machine I see the following:

  $ apt-cache showsrc ddccontrol|grep Architecture
  Architecture: i386 amd64 ia64 alpha arm i386 amd64 ia64 alpha arm i386 amd64
ia64 alpha arm i386 amd64 ia64 alpha arm

I see a "vague" correlation with your problem :-)

I can fix the PTS to avoid showing duplicates, but I must say I'm
inclined to delay the fix and let you check whether the apt-cache
behaviour is correct or we have a bug in something more important than
the PTS here ...

What do you think?

Thanks for your report,
Cheers.

Stefano,

I have not been able to find another pacakage that exhibits this same
behavior in its PTS page, but I am proceeding with the bug report. It
appears that sometimes the arch listing as repeated several times, as in
[0]. My best guess at a cause is that it happens when a source package
produces multiple binary packages and *all* the binary packages contain
the exact same architecture list (and that list is not any or all). For
example, many libraries have a corresponding -doc package which is
architecture all, so none of the other libraries I have looked at have
had this problem. I apologize for not being able to find another
example of this problem.
