RFS: QA Uploads

2008-01-24 Thread Barry deFreese

Hi folks,

Sorry for the cross-post but since these are QA uploads, I wasn't sure
which list would be preferred. I have 4 packages from the Orphaned
Packages with incorrect maintainer lists that I have put on mentors if
someone has time to review/upload.

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/s/sn/sn_0.3.8-7.dsc

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/q/quack-el/quack-el_0.30-2.dsc

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libapache2-mod-xmlrpc2/libapache2-mod-xmlrpc2_2.2.1-3.dsc
Fairly intrusive but makes it build and fixes 2 important bugs.

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/k/kxgenerator/kxgenerator_0.3.7+dfsg-2.dsc

Thank you,

Barry deFreese

The Makefile is not autogenerated so no need for test trickery during
clean, just remove the "-"
While you're at it remove the "rm -f debian/substvars", no idea what
that should be good for, especially since it is directly followed
by dh_clean...

You haven't removed the unused dh_ commands here like e.g. in your
amavis-stats upload. Please do so, especially the ancient ones.

convert the *.c files from iso-8859-1 to UTF-8 I get Patrik Rådman
as the name (for whom the copyright notice is missing in

debian/copyright: copyright statement missing, inexact reference to GPL
version, while the source has a clear GPL 2+ statement.

you can also remove the commented out DH_COMPAT setting, the commented
out $(MAKE) and stuff, and the unused targets configure(-stamp).

debdiff between the old and new binary:
File lists identical (after any substitutions)

Control files: lines which differ (wdiff format)

Depends: {+apache2.2-common,+} libc6 (>= [-2.3.6-6), libdb4.3 (>= 4.3.28-1),
libexpat1 (>= 1.95.8), libruby1.8 (>= 1.8.4), libxmlrpc-c3, apache2-common (>=
2.0.50)-] {+2.7-1), libuuid1, libxmlrpc-c3+}
Installed-Size: [-72-] {+124+}
Maintainer: [-Andres Salomon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>-] {+Debian QA Group <[EMAIL
PROTECTED]>+}
Version: [-2.2.1-2-] {+2.2.1-3+}

So the dependencies on libdb4.3, libexpat1, libruby1.8 vanished? Is that
correct?

At least from a .so point of view:
Symbol diff:

  ./usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_xmlrpc.so:
@@ -1,13 +1,10 @@
   NEEDED  libxmlrpc.so.3

-  NEEDED  libdb-4.3.so
-  NEEDED  libexpat.so.1
   NEEDED  libc.so.6
-  NEEDED  libruby1.8.so.1.8

Since the previous (-2) revision can't be rebuilt (FTBFS), I only
applied the CMakeLists.txt diff, and both (the rebuilt one and the
“Barry one”) binaries are the same. Could it be that these NEEDED
dependencies previously came from extra linking and/or from extra Libs
in pkgconfig files (or similar), now moved to Libs.private?

Note that xmlrpc-c is in a strange shape (build states), I'm contacting
seanius through private mail about that.

Cheers,

RFS: QA Uploads: epplets, libpam-foreground, tkdiff

2008-05-28 Thread Barry deFreese

Hi folks,

I have a few QA uploads sitting on mentors if anyone has time.

Epplets:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/e/epplets/epplets_0.10.dfsg1-1.dsc
Was already uploaded once, got rejected for some missing copyright
holders, which I believe I have fixed. ( I believe anibal_ was the
initial uploader ).

libpam-foreground:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libpam-foreground/libpam-foreground_0.5.dsc
Thomas (tomv_w) has been looking at this for me so this might be taken
care of.

tkdiff:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/t/tkdiff/tkdiff_4.1.4-1.dsc
I just orphaned this today after seeing that the maintainer was on the
MIA list. However, the maintainer has been having keyring problems and
is apparently not happy with the situation so he is now fine with this
package being orphaned. This closes RC bug #473050, at least for me.
Even running with tk8.5 and the .tkdiffrc file posted in the bug report.

If anyone has time to comment/sponsor/upload, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

RFS: QA uploads for xmake and dxpc

2003-10-25 Thread Frank Lichtenheld
Hi.

I've prepared QA upload for xmake and dxpc and search sponsors for
them.
They do not fix RC bugs but introduce minor new upstream versions,
set maintainer to QA Group and do some cleanup. dxpc is moved
from non-free to main.

The sources are available from http://www.lichtenheld.de/debian
(or via "deb-src http://www.lichtenheld.de/debian ./")
Since this are new upstream versions, a patch doesn't make real sense,
but I can provide one if needed.

Changelog entries:

dxpc (3.8.2-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
+ debian/rules: don't try to install README-3.8.0 as it doesn't exist
  any more
  * QA Upload
  * Change Maintainer to Debian QA Group
  * Move to main due to license change (Closes: #142028, #158565)
+ debian/copyright: update copyright
  * debian/copyright: mention download location
  * debian/rules:
+ use install instead of cp
+ invoke ./configure directly
+ don't install INSTALL
  * Update to debhelper 4:
+ debian/rules: adjust paths
+ debian/compat: create
  * Update to Standards-Version 3.6.1: no changes

 -- Frank Lichtenheld <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>  Sun, 26 Oct 2003 00:20:29 +0200

xmake (1.06-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release
+ debian/copyright: mention download location
  * QA Upload
  * Change maintainer to Debian QA Group
  * Use debhelper 4:
+ debian/compat: create
+ debian/rules: adjust paths
+ XMakefile: adjust paths
  * Update Standards-Version to 3.6.1: no changes
  * debian/changelog: remove emacs settings

We don't currently maintain e16-related packages, so don't really have anything

You might to see that with ljlane, the e16 maintainer.
