Hi,

This is just a ping - have you managed to get either of these two pieces
of information?

Thanks,

Considering your alacrity in complaining to -devel about our slow
response, I find it amusing that you haven't answered this query yet! :)

I've tagged the bug unreproducible, for the reasons mentioned above. At
some point it'll have to be closed or reassigned elsewhere. Ping?

elm-me+ is orphaned and doesn't have a potential adopter at the moment,
so I'm going to fix its RC bug plus a couple of the other ones open
against it while I'm at it. Please shout if you object ...

I revised it.

  http://tats.iris.ne.jp/honyaku-el/
  http://tats.iris.ne.jp/honyaku-el/honyaku-el-1.02+tats20020518.diff

And I've written a patch for Debian's honyaku-el 1.02-3:

  $ wget
http://tats.iris.ne.jp/honyaku-el/honyaku-el-1.02+tats20020518-for-deb3.diff
  $ apt-get source honyaku-el
  $ cd honyaku-el-1.02
  $ patch -p1 <../honyaku-el-1.02+tats20020518-for-deb3.diff

ChangeLog:

  * Apply a patch:
http://tats.iris.ne.jp/honyaku-el/honyaku-el-1.02+tats20020518.diff
 - Support both XEmacs and GNU Emacs
 - The variable `honyaku-skip-regexp' for skipping citation marks
 - Specify coding system to avoid a problem of disguising characters
   to fix Bug#123314
  * Remove lisp/honyaku-xemacs.el
  * Upgrade lisp/PROTOCOL and lisp/PROTOCOL.txt to Rev 1.01
  * Cleanup debian/*

xcoral 1:3.40-2 deb pkg problem/bug

2002-05-17 Thread Justin Vander Ziel
I installed xcoral yesterday evening and noticed the following error:

update-alternatives: unable to make /usr/man/man1/editor.1.gz.dpkg-tmp a
symlink to /etc/alternatives/editor.1.gz: No such file or directory

It seems a file was forgotten. To be honest, if that were the only problem I
might not have written you. However, the same problem seems to be interfering
with dpkg and apt-get functionality as well.
according to dpkg -s xcoral:

Package: xcoral
Status: purge ok half-configured
But when I try to remove it:
rayuela:/home/zielot# dpkg -P --force-all xcoral
(Reading database ... 53323 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing xcoral ...
update-alternatives: unable to make /usr/man/man1/editor.1.gz.dpkg-tmp a
symlink to /etc/alternatives/editor.1.gz: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing xcoral (--purge):

update-alternatives: unable to make /usr/man/man1/editor.1.gz.dpkg-tmp a
symlink to /etc/alternatives/editor.1.gz: No such file or directory
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 xcoral

And furthermore:

rayuela:/home/zielot# dpkg -P --force-all xemacs21-bin
(Reading database ... 53323 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing xemacs21-bin ...
update-alternatives: unable to make /usr/man/man1/editor.1.gz.dpkg-tmp a
symlink to /etc/alternatives/editor.1.gz: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing xemacs21-bin (--purge):
 subprocess pre-removal script returned error exit status 2
update-alternatives: unable to make /usr/man/man1/editor.1.gz.dpkg-tmp a
symlink to /etc/alternatives/editor.1.gz: No such file or directory
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 xemacs21-bin

How can I fix this? Any help would be appreciated.
