Bug#517032: b43-cutter cannot extract firmware

2011-02-07 Thread Cleto Martin Angelina
Package: firmware-b43-installer
Version: 4.150.10.5-5
Severity: normal

Hi Rene,

Firstly, thanks for your maintaining job.

I have this problem with firmware-b43-installer and I have solved by
compiling b43-fwcutter by myself. The message I get is as following:

Sorry, the input file is either wrong or not supported by b43-fwcutter.
This file has an unknown MD5sum cb8d70972b885b1f8883b943c0261a3c.

It is rare because same firmware runs with my compiled version of
fwcutter. Have you seen Vsevolod has the same architecture like me
(powerpc)?. I'm not sure but I think the problem is the compiling
process of b43-fwcutter.

I'll try to help you with this issue.

Cheers,
 Cleto.

Dear maintainer,

The Debian Qt/KDE team is planning to remove the KDE3 and Qt3 libraries from
Debian shortly after the Squeeze release. The transition phase to KDE4 and Qt4
will finish since both KDE and Nokia upstream don't maintain the old versions
of those libraries anymore.

In order to make this move, all packages directly or indirectly depending on
the KDE3/Qt3 libraries have to either get ported to KDE4/Qt4 or eventually get
removed from the Debian repositories.

Therefore, please take the time and:
- contact your upstream (if existing) and ask about the state of a KDE4/Qt4
port of your application
- if there are no activities regarding porting, investigate whether there are
suitable alternatives for your users
- if there is a KDE4/Qt4 port that is not yet packaged, consider packaging it
- if both the KDE3/Qt3 and the KDE4/Qt4 version already coexist in the Debian
archives, consider removing the KDE3/Qt3 version

Documentation on how to port to KDE4 can be found at:
http://techbase.kde.org/index.php?title=Development/Tutorials/KDE4_Porting_Guide

Documentation on how to port to Qt4 can be found at:
http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7/porting4.html

For any questions and issues, do not hesitate to contact the Debian Qt/KDE
team at debian-qt-...@lists.debian.org

Bug#612334: vusb-analyzer: Doesn't work when locale is set to pl_PL.UTF-8

2011-02-07 Thread Patryk Ściborek
Package: vusb-analyzer
Version: 1.1-2
Severity: important

after setting it to C. I used sample file from vusb-analyzer homepage:

Since updating to version 2:0.8.4-1, I am finding that the KMIX_VOLUP
KMIX_VOLDOWN macros are incrementing and decrementing the volume of the
mixer by 10. The increment decrement used to be 3.

In my lineak.conf file, I have tried the changing the macro command to:

   VolumeDown = KMIX_VOLDOWN(3)
   VolumeUp = KMIX_VOLUP(3)

After restarting the lineak daemon, I find that the above changes make
no difference. The volume change is still 10 when pressing the volume
down volume up keys.

Package: libpkg-guide
Version: 0.0.20070413
Severity: serious

The libpkg-guide that has been packaged and is now in the archive gives
recommendations regarding -dev package naming which are not at all
representative of a consensus in Debian. We already have problems with
library maintainers inserting sonames into their -dev package names based on
the unclear/misguided advice of this document; shipping it in a stable
release would be seen by many as an endorsement by the Debian project, and
no such endorsement exists. There *particularly* isn't such an endorsement
from the Debian release team, for whom gratuitous -dev package name changes
make library transitions more difficult by orders of magnitude.

This package should not be included in a stable release until the
recommendations have been revised to reflect best practices.

Bug#612056: Removed package(s) from unstable

2011-02-07 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

 oxine |0.7.1-6 | source
 oxine | 0.7.1-6+b1 | alpha, hppa
 oxine | 0.7.1-6+b2 | amd64, i386, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips,
mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
 oxine | 0.7.1-6+b3 | armel, ia64

--- Reason ---
RoQA; dead upstream, orphaned, soon broken, low popcon, alternatives exist
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

We try to close Bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they where closed
correctly or should have been re-assign to another package.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 612...@bugs.debian.org.

Eckhart

-c --create-archive

failed (again). But now I did stracing the afmserver process and see
that it starts opening /dev/null for one after another until it is
opened 1023 times. Then it get a EMFILE (Too many open files).

The backup with afserver works well and the only I change to have
parallel backup is changing afserver to afmserver as in the
documentation mention.

Note that I tried this several times in the past with every time the
same result.

Using the afmserver as daemon I run into the following problem.

I have two tape sets, the first for incremental backup and the second
for the full backup. So normally there is a tape from the first set in
the drive.

Now I started the backup from one machine which told me to insert tape
24 (from the second tape set). I decided to give it the tape 26 as tape
24 was nearly full. That was no problem with the single stream server.
But with the multi stream server the first few files are reported to be
on the (not allocated) file 249 on tape 24. But they are really on tape
26.

When using the multi stream server I got the following misbehaviour:

I was writing a backup to tape set 2 and while this going on the backup
to tape set 1 was started on another client. The backup of the later
client gets blocked until the first is finished and then it is written
to the same tape (in tape set 2) instead of tape set 1.

When I use the single stream server or start the backup to tape set 1
after finishing the backup to tape set 2 everything works as is should.

--- Reason ---
RoQA; orphaned, KDE 3, dead upstream, replacements

When you run this on the second head to add to the panel, it comes up
with the dialog on the first head, then dies and comes with the applet
appears to have died dialog
playing with this has also resulted in the gnome panels being
unresponsive, but no dialog box or other is running, requiring you to
manually kill gnome_swallow (as a restart of gnome-panel would restart
gnome_swallow)

Package: gnome-swallow-applet
Version: 1.1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Running the applet (even after a fresh reboot), I see the following Dialog:

The panel encountered a problem while loading OAFIID:GNOME_Swallow
Details: Unknown CORBA exception id: 'IDL:omg.org/CORBA/COMM_FAILURE:1.0'

Do you want to delete the applet from your configuration?

Before using the gnome-swallow-applet comming from testing, I was using the
gnome-swallow package (unofficial package from the developper of
gnome-swallow) without problems.

Package: gnome-swallow-applet

Severity: normal

A wmaker applet is correctly swallowed in a gnome drawer. But when you
start a new session, the applet is shown in a independant window. You
have to right click on the place where the applet should be, hit
reconfigure and click OK for the applet to come back to its
original place.

Step to reproduce :
- install wmnet
- add a 'drawer' to the panel, 64 pixel wide to fit the windowmaker
applets
- add a swallorer to the drawer, with the following parameters :
  Program to run : /usr/bin/wmnet --device br0 -l -x 240 -r
LightSeaGreen -t firebrick --normalstate
Window name to swallow : wmnet
- the applet is correctly swallowed
- exit your gnome session
- log in back

- the applet stays in a independant window instead of being swallowed

- right click on the empty space of the drawer
- click reconfigure
- click OK

- the applet is back in the drawer

I am pretty sure it happens with other windowmaker applets too.

Package: gnome-swallow-applet
Version: 1.2-1
Severity: important

when using the azureus (2.2.0.2-1) minimize minimizes to system tray
option while having gnome-swallow-applet installed, azureus completely
disappears. it's not to be found in the top panel (next to the clock,
where it should be), bottom panel (tasks), with alt+tab or on any other
workspace. removing gnome-swallow-applet fixes this.

Bug#612061: Removed package(s) from unstable

2011-02-07 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

   wmgtemp | 0.8-1 | source, alpha, armel, hppa, i386, ia64, mips, mipsel,
powerpc, s390, sparc
   wmgtemp | 1.1-1 | source, amd64

--- Reason ---
RoQA; orphaned, minimal popcon
