Package: xfwm4
Version: 4.6.2-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I tried to “xfwm4 --replace” awesome but that didn't work out, I only
got:
| ** (xfwm4:14519): WARNING **: Another Window Manager is already running

Running it inside a debugger, it appears that in src/screen.c's
myScreenSetWMAtom(), the following returns 0:
| current_wm = XGetSelectionOwner (display_info->dpy, wm_sn_atom);

maybe you want to modify the “if (current_wm)” to include that?
| else {
|   if (replace_wm) {
| g_message ("Fails to detect a window manager to replace");
|   }
| }

Reproducible this way:
  Xephyr :1
  DISPLAY=:1 awesome &
  DISPLAY=:1 xfwm4 --replace

Mraw,
KiBi.

Package: awesome
Version: 3.4.15-1+b1
Severity: important

After upgrading some libraries (Gtk+ etc, at least pango seems to be
awesome depends) to experimental, awesome does not start any more. It
only prints following error message and exits.

X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
Major opcode of failed request: 12
 (X_ConfigureWindow)
Resource id in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 929
Current serial number in output stream: 930

However, I was able start awesome by starting twm first, killing it
and then starting awesome in same X session.

Iceweasel blatantly abuses the urgency hint. It would be nice if
awesome would provide an ignore list such that any crappy
applications like Iceweasel can be kept in line.

http://bugs.debian.org/496632

Yes, this should be fixed in upstream Iceweasel, but somehow I doubt
they will. It would make it a lot easier on users if awesome stepped
in and covered, at least until #496632 is fixed.

Thanks,

hfsutils fails to cross build from source, because it uses the build
architecture compiler. After exporting a suitable CC, hfsutils cross
builds successfully. Please consider applying the attached patch.
