Bug#126406: KPPP fixes, derived from #126406

2004-05-06 Thread Christopher Martin
Hello,

Well, no response from Marco yet. I've incorporated your suggestion,
however, and made "noauth" in /etc/ppp/peers/kppp-options commented out
by default. I've also documented this change.

While kppp will require root intervention to get "noauth", this is still
an improvement, in terms of security, over simply instructing users to
set "noauth" in /etc/ppp/options, since "auth" will still be the default;
only malicious users could exploit "noauth".

I've attached the two updated patches. But I'm still hoping someone can
come up with a clever solution that won't require any editing of files at
all.

Cheers,
Christopher Martin

Don't have the kde package installed, so I don't know where to report

started. kicker stays a bit longer. X stays up.

Same happened when kdelibs 3.2.1 was installed, after many K packages
were upgraded to 3.2.2...

2004-05-06 Thread NOLARD Michel
Package: noatun
Version: 4:3.2.2-1
Severity: important

When I load a m3u/pls playlist which references some mp3 internet streaming
sources, I see noatun becoming low, very very low.
It eats 100% of the CPU, it has HUGE latency to reply to the GUI events, ...

But, for EXACTLY the same playlists, XMMS reacts instantly, playing the music
after only a second or two !

Perhaps the information can help : I use "Winamp" GUI theme engine.

Bug#247637: kmail: unable to handle base64

2004-05-06 Thread Mathieu Roy
Package: kmail
Version: 4:3.2.2-2
Severity: normal

Apparently Kmail is not able to handle base64 encoded messages like
this:

--qC1cgMVBgZ
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
content-transfer-encoding: base64

VGVzdA==
--qC1cgMVBgZ--

I'm not sure this way of formatting mail is standard, however it
begins to be more and more usual with phone that send mails like
imode. Is there anything that could be done in order to make these
mails readable. Some mail software seems capable to handle that, like
IMP (web client).

Regards,
